Objectives

Following the success of the first edition of the Murathènes 2019 project, a homonymous association was created by the actors of this project. In this European year of cultural heritage, this project aims to question in a practical and lived way how the traditional musical heritage is seized and (re)appropriated by young people of the same generation but from different places, cultures and experiences. Our project, like the first one, is articulated between the cities of Murat, Aurillac, and Athens. Music as a catalyst of identities, of the "particular" and the "common", must thus allow, through sharing, practice and intercultural encounter, the production of common creations, the realization of oneself and the better living together "beyond the borders". In this way, the Murathènes project wishes to confront, through music and youth, the societal challenges of openness to others, the integration of minorities (rural youth, JAMOs, refugees, isolated or "prevented" publics), the valorisation of territories and their cultural heritage, the fight against exclusion, the commitment of young people or sustainable development. Thanks to partners in Greece (Project Elea, El sistema, Live Studio) and in Cantal (cultural and musical associations, high schools, popular education associations, institutions...) about sixty young people from 13 to 30 years old from rural areas, volunteers and refugees will exchange, learn and learn from each other around music in order to do things together and produce together. A set of associated activities will then nourish the exchange and animate the meeting; from the sharing of preparatory work at a distance, to common interactive workshops in person, to exchanges and collective practices, thanks to concerts and moments of valorization... In concrete terms, during human and intercultural exchanges, the young people will share their musical culture, exchange on their roots, pool their inspirations and their productions, reflect on the place of each one's culture and the heritage of all, discover new cultural and musical horizons, live artistic but also convivial and fraternal times. Public renderings will mark the product of this unique experience, the apotheosis of this exchange, the fruit of the score of each participant united around a common work. A sharing of experience during events to promote international mobility organized by the Cantal's mobility actors will serve, in the same way, to share the benefits of exchanges in the educational and civic paths of youth. Particular attention will be paid to accompanying the participants in identifying and evaluating what they have learned from their solidarity and intercultural experience; collectively and individually (self-evaluation). This project between the youth of Europe and the world, through music and cultural heritages, wishes to bring an active, lively and concrete contribution to the Erasmus + challenge of a more inclusive, citizen, solidarity and sharing Europe.
