The project was born with the motivation of one of the facilitators, who had been exploring the concept and the importance of creativity for some years. Also, this project was written during the first months of the covid situation, back in 2020, which also influenced the structure of the project, because we thought about the importance of a digital transition and that it is important to create relevant content for youngsters, who are more and more on the Internet. But also, the importance of being creative and resilient in times of change that demand lots of adaptation and flexibility. And creativity can be a good ally against frustration and stress when solving a problem. We wanted that they can improve skills as flexibility, open-mindness and work on their capacity of decision making and creating. The participants had the possibility to give their own workshops to a group of students and through 3 Facebook Lives to test the new skills acquired during the project. They also created the content to share on the Facebook page of ADHC, and created an online course to disseminate their learnings. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do the project in 2020, nor in 2021, due to the covid situation. Although we could have done it in October 2021, we really wanted this project to be a creative experience as a whole, so that we can fully explore concepts such as innovation, alternative mindset and resilience. We preferred not to have more external risks due to the sanitary restrictions, but also the team was honest with itself, and decided that we weren’t in the best conditions to offer a great quality project. Luckily we got an extension and we could do the project from the 28th of March to the 12th of April 2022, and it overpassed our expectations and those from the participants. The main target of this project was to awaken youngsters' creativity potential in order to apply it in their personal and professional development. Why? To give them an open-minded, efficient and innovative perspective in order to adapt and face any possible upcoming issue or obstacle, introducing a balance between their rational and creative mindset. The main topic of this project was the creative thinking, or, as we introduced later, the lateral thinking. Since the beggining we knew we wanted to have a very pragmatical and sensorial project, so that participants can LIVE and breathe creativity all along their stay. And we can say that we prepared the planning in order for them to have space and time to get to know each other, explore their comfort zones, be creative and express themselves freely, and then we started to introduce some theory, concepts, tools and methods to train more the creativity. Although we never let the games and dynamics! The aim of the workshops were to reawaken their creative part with art, cuisine, graphics, psychology and lots of fun in an international context. We knew that this innovative way of carrying out the exchange will let participants to work in autonomy and have the space and time to embody and assimilate all the knowledge and skills that they were acquiring. When we speak about adaptation and opening the minds to new experiences, we also have to take in count the process of going out of the comfort zone (or, as we were saying all the time "going out of the box"). And during this youth exchange, participants had to face several situations that encouraged them to be resilient and find creative solutions for all the group, which helped a lot in the integration of the team. Besides some challenging activitites that were planned (like acting and improvisation games, physical energizers, dissemination activities facing public...) we had a bigger challenge: the weather. We had unexpected snow and very cold days, that could lower a lot the motivation of the participants, but we adapted to the conditions, found solutions and made sure that everybody was going well. We were happily surprised how they handle their own "uncomfort", and tried to take the best out of it. Last important topic of this project was to give participants from different countries the opportunity to bring them together, to create a meeting point of ideas, cultures and ways of living that were a booster to be more open and think differently. Participants were very interested in this intercultural exchange, so we decided to give also more time for this to happen. Some other objectives of the project: - Connect the EU with young people. - Equality of all kinds: disability, gender, age and cultural balance. - Inclusion and giving opportunities to youngsters with fewer opportunities. - Quality learning, with a non-formal education. - Green and sustainable Europe: the project was hosted at an eco place, that follows sustainable daily practices. - Mental Health & Wellbeing: most of the participants were facing difficult personal situations, so the project was also a safe space for them.
