Objectives

The purpose of the youth exchange ‘’Game Lab’’ was to give a chance to explore and develop soft skills like communication, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, creativity, resilience and adaptability through non-formal learning methods with emphasis in gamification methodology. Those methods encouraged participants to step out of the comfort zone. They developed a sense of initiative, gained confidence and it developed their social and conversational skills. Through the and after the activity they became more open and proactive, especially in their local community. The following project objectives were achieved: - 30 participants improved key competences using non-formal methods during 6 days of youth exchange and up to the end of the project - They developed intercultural learning within the youth field - They were more stimulated in the topics such as inclusion and integration - Participants raised awareness about issues in our societies about cultural diversity and discrimination - We promoted non-formal and gamified approaches in citizen awareness activities - Group were empowered to explore creative and innovative approaches in youth work and in daily life in general; This youth exchange took deep into consideration the Erasmus+ priorities and promoted inclusion, diversity, equality, gamification, sense of initiative and creativity. Some of the major activities of this youth exchange were to connect gamification and non-formal methods, develop techniques of gamification, encourage initiative, innovation and creativity, develop the ability of young people to communicate in English, increase motivation and self-esteem of participants and support the integration of youth with fewer opportunities. Institut za poticanje mladih is an NGO that makes activities and projects for youth between 14 and 30 years old. We involve youth with reduced opportunities in our programme and we are trying to provide equal opportunities to all motivated and interested young people. Game Lab was our 2nd youth exchange and it was our pleasure to present Croatia, Rijeka, our NGO, Erasmus+ and the European Union through the activities which we organized. Also, we are happy that we involved our participants in the activities with local people where they had a chance to hear from them about life in Croatia, information about their jobs and interest in gamification and general opinion about Croatia as a member of the European Union.
