Civic engagement / responsible citizenshipICT - new technologies - digital competences

Objectives

Young people today live in a world transformed by digital technology, effortlessly enabling social media connectivity and access to vast amounts of information. The importance of digital technologies as a tool for the active participation of young people in the community is especially emphasized in the current situation caused by the COVID-19, in which they can contribute to the acquisition of skills and knowledge of young people and encourage their inclusion, regardless of movement restrictions. Accordingly, this project directly contributes to solving the problem of underdeveloped competences of young people in the field of digital citizenship, as a precondition for their active and responsible participation (especially in the current conditions and limitations) in the social community. The main objective of the project is to empower young people through the acquisition of digital citizenship competences - competences for learning and active participation in the digital society. These competences relate to the ability to participate positively, critically and competently in the digital environment, relying on effective communication skills and practicing forms of social participation that respect human rights and dignity through responsible use of technology. The specific objectives of the project are: - develop the ability to use digital technologies competently and positively among young people in the field of active citizenship (creation, work, sharing, socializing, research, play, communication and learning); - promote active and responsible participation of young people (values, skills, attitudes, knowledge and critical understanding) in communities (local, national, global) at all levels (political, economic, social, cultural and intercultural); - ensure that young people use digital technologies with unconditional respect for human rights and dignity; - increase intercultural awareness of the participants and feeling of belonging to the European community; - increase foreign language competences of participants; - increase knowledge of participants and their motivation to take part in Erasmus+ Programme.
