"SYVELI - Share Your Values and Experiences Locally and Internationally" is a youth exchange willing to tackle the phenomenon of the migration of high educated youngsters from their born country due to the lack of opportunities and professional conditions occurring internally. The overall objectives are related to raising the awareness of the participants regarding the new job opportunities in the European labour market and how the brain drain affects the European social fabric. This project will involve active associations in the youth field from five different European countries and will support 36 youngsters between 18 and 25 years old (most of them coming from a fewer opportunity context) to be more active in their local community and be more aware of the importance to give back what they learned abroad to counter the social pauperisation of some areas, especially rural ones. “SYVELI” will take place in Szeged, Hungary between 1-10 October 2020, and through the use of non-formal education aims to activate the target group of youngsters which are the pillars of social and economical European resurgence. For this reason, we decided to involve Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Austria since these are countries where this phenomenon is more rooted or rather offer good examples of reverse brain drain. All the activities organized are gonna meet the objectives of Erasmus + programme, promoting the values of social inclusion, tolerance, freedom of expression and intercultural dialogue, focusing on the self-development of the participants in such a variety of ways. All the youngster will be able to boost their sense of initiative, self-confidence and improve all those soft skills useful to be a more all-round successful European citizen. To achieve this, the facilitators and group leaders will lead participants through several plenary groups and individual activities, such as theatre, presentations, family groups, world cafè, role-play games, interviews to locals and creation of dissemination media contents. This youth exchange is thought to be like a stone thrown in a calm lake, helping to contribute to raising the awareness about this social issue, having an impact on all the communities connected with the partners involved. More in the specific the participants will: - deeply understand the brain drain phenomenon and more in general migration flows, thanks to the open environment where own experiences, stereotypes and beliefs will be touched; - change their mindset from just recipients to contributors to their local community, realizing their important role for a positive social change; - enhance several skills useful to address youth unemployment and be more facilitated on their professional path; - have a clear understanding of what concern Erasmus+ context, taking advantage of the opportunities available and giving visibility to the programme.
