Eurostat estimates that 15.582 million men and women in the EU-28, of whom 12.315 million were in the euro area (EA-19), were unemployed in November 2019. Compared with October 2019, the number of persons unemployed increased by 34 000 in the EU-28 and decreased by 10 000 in the euro area. Compared with November 2018, unemployment fell by 768 000 in the EU-28 and by 624 000 in the euro area. Fighting high levels of unemployment -particularly among young people -is one of the most urgent tasks for European governments. Too many young people leave school prematurely running a high risk of being unemployed and socially marginalised. Despite small positive changes, there is a lot of work to be done. In this project we aim to fight against youth unemployment and include disadvantaged young people in our youth exchanges. According to the 2019 World Bank statistics youth unemployment rate in Hungary is 11,1%, in Turkey is 23,7%, in Latvia is 12,3, in Romania is 15,4%, in Germany is 5,4%, and in Italy is 28,7%. The youth unemployment rate in European Union is 16,3% even higher than average rate of overall world 12,8% and OECD member countries 11,8%. Unemployment is a big challenge for Europe and partner countries. Especially the global COVID-19 pandemic made youth unemployment problem bigger these days. According to ILO report; already, the global COVID-19 pandemic has led to severe economic and labour market shocks. With an estimated rise between 5.3 and 24.7 million in the number of those unemployed globally, the impact on youth employment is likely to be severe given that youth (15-24) are already 3 times more likely to be unemployed than adults. Furthermore, COVID-19-related shocks to the labour market are likely to impact the quality of jobs for young people, be it in the form of zero-hour contracts, informal employment, etc. For us, youth workers, now it is more important than before to focus on youth unemployment especially disadvantaged youth. The unprecedented technological development and increased inter-dependence that the world is experiencing have not provided a solution to ones who are left outside the system, especially young people with fewer opportunities in rural and urban areas who find it more and more difficult to meet the ever-changing labor market demands. Within the framework of potential efforts and strategies to boost employment and job creation for young people, entrepreneurship is increasingly accepted as an important means and a valuable additional strategy to create jobs and improve livelihoods and economic independence of young people. It is an innovative approach for inclusion of young people with disadvantaged backgrounds, especially young people with fewer opportunities in rural and urban areas into society and today’s changing labour markets. The objectives of the project are: - Deepen the understanding about the concept of unemployment, employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship - Map the conditions of young people today especially the youth with fewer opportunities in rural and urban areas and understand their hopes, dreams fears and barriers for their personal development. - Explore impediments and difficulties related to self-employment and ways to overcome them. - Exchange ideas, best practices and tools related to effective youth work with unemployed young people to raise their self-employability and entrepreneurial spirit. - Guide participants to do research and observation in their local communities after they return in order to find useful insights and opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship. - Equip participants with knowledge and skills in the field of project management in order to enable them to develop quality youth projects. - Collect ideas, learning and experiences of participants from their local communities and turn them into concrete project ideas - Identify existing resources on entrepreneurship and self-employment and share know how to link their education, personal life experience with entrepreneurship and self-employment potential. - Promote Erasmus + Programme and encourage young people to be involved in it and make the most out of it in their lives. - Develop concrete business ideas and entrepreneurial initiatives. - Develop concrete projects to be applied under Erasmus + Programme - Develop and publish an online Booklet for Self-Employment Ideas and Success Stories which will include also business ideas. - support participants in the acquisition of learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences) with a view to improving their personal development and their employability in the European labour market and beyond - raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity
