Objectives

We wanted to draw participants ‘attention to our so called 'blind spots' and also • Understand why humans are biased and are naturally built to stereotype • Appreciate the relationship between bias and stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination • Able to assess the impact of bias on decision-making, behaviour and relationships • Identify own biases and take action to compensate for them The aim of the project was to explore unconscious bias and emotional literacy of youth workers so that they can make more informed choices and decisions and to foster the importance of diversity in inclusion. Objectives of the TC were: 1. Understanding emotional literacy: Becoming more aware of EQ: Noticing what we do, Becoming more intentional: Doing what we mean. Becoming more purposeful. Doing it for a reason 2. Understanding the Impact of Unconscious Bias: Why do we have biases? What are the impacts of these biases? How can I identify and address these biases when they emerge? How can I identify and address biases in others? These questions were explored. The participants could analyse the effects of projecting our values onto others, they learnt how to recognise and mitigate unconscious bias. 3. They also created their future plans how to urge an inclusive culture in their environment (workplace, schools etc.) and how to make themselves aware of the unconscious biases. 4. They learnt the new perspectives of Erasmus+ programme
