The main goal of the project 'Greenway' was to find common solutions to environmental issues with the method of creative recycling. Participant gained new knowledge through art and design on the topic of sustainability and environmental protection while exchanging best practices, thinking and creating together within the framework of intercultural learning. Our goal was to create a space for learning within an integrated group in which we included young people living with disabilities and youth from different backgrounds living with fewer opportunities. The main target group of the program was young people between the ages of 18 and 30 years old who are devoted towards environmental topics and who wanted to make changes in their local communities regarding this matter. The main goals of the project were the following: - Skill development - development of social and personal skills through different non formal educational methods (especially the method of creative recycling) - Sharing information and exchanging best practices regarding the topic of sustainability - Participants learn how to communicate through art and design - Rethinking concepts regarding sustainability - putting in a different perspective the concepts of "recycling", "new" by making new objects out of waste materials which are useful and have new properties - Exploring cultural and regional differences regarding environmental issues - supporting conversation about regional and national situations regarding the matter where participants share their experiences - Supporting inclusion - involving young people living with disabilities and with fewer opportunities - active citizenship - participants to be motivated to take an active role in their communities regarding social topics The main idea of the project formulated from the needs of young people's local and global needs. ReCreativity is devoted towards environmental topics and sustainability - one of the main goals of the organisation is to educate, share information about the topic. During our work - and especially during our international programs - we realised that the topic of environmental protection is becoming more and more popular and a lot of young people are committed to the topic. This is why we thought it would be important to create an opportunity for them where they meet with their peers in an international environment who are also interested in the topic and who are ready to make steps towards a more sustainable future. With this in mind, we started the organisation of the project 'Greenway' which were based on years of experience in organising and implementing youth projects. During the program we supported participants with different non formal educational methods in deepening their knowledge in environmental topics, learning best practices from each other regarding to sustainability while developing several individual and social competences and skills. We tried to involve participants in all project phases - from preparation until the follow up phase. We wanted to create an opportunity where they share their own ideas and results with others - they realised their own activities during and after the youth exchange for others, during which they could share their newly acquired knowledge and could practice skills that they developed during the activity.
