Active participation in sports of young people not only improves their health and reduces costs to health services, but if properly addressed and arranged can have great social impacts such as reduction of crime, violence, and addiction to heavy drugs as well as encourage more active engagement in the society of the young people, including the marginalized ones. The main aim of our project was to equip the youth workers with competencies to use sport as a tool for increasing the social inclusion and active participation of young people, with a focus on those with fewer opportunities. To achieve these, we implemented the training course "It's Everyone's Game" with the following objectives: - To share our local and national realities about the current situations of inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities - To map and share the different existing youth work programmes and activities for social inclusion through sports - To discuss and understand basic concepts, values and principles of social inclusion - To understand, test and apply the sport inclusive concept in youth work context - To promote and apply healthy lifestyle practices among the youth workers - To share different sport methods useful for involving more young people with fewer opportunities - To improve the competences in organizing quality inclusive youth activities with using creative sport methodology - To share, understand and learn how to cope with challenges in implementation of quality sport methods for inclusion and acceptance of young people with fewer opportunities - To adopt and internalize inclusive sport methods in everyday youth work - To develop plans for new local/national workshops with using sport methods for inclusion - To establish network of youth workers dedicating in applying inclusive sport methods and promoting inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities
