Objectives

The Youthtainability Seminar project builds on the results of our previous KA2 project. Its aim was to support the development of local youth work and explore the role of the profession in shaping the local identity of young people. The partnership developed three tools for this purpose: a publication providing theoretical background for local youth work, a collection of good practices, and three maps supporting the reflection of professionals. Building significantly on these tools, our project targeted the promotion and reinforcement of the development of young people's sense of belonging through self-reflection and group reflection for professionals, volunteers, and students involved in youth work. Besides sharing these tools with participants, we received valuable feedback for further development. Throughout the program implementation, we established a Padlet platform accessible to all participants. Here, we tracked their daily learning processes, and all tools and theoretical background materials were shared. Participants also had the opportunity to upload additional good practices and methods related to the topic, which they could personally present at the seminar. During our seminar, we provided arriving participants with the opportunity and tools to reflect on the opportunities present for young people in their own communities. We explored what profiles of young people exist, what opportunities they have, and what facilitates or hinders the development and solidification of young people's sense of belonging. Using non-formal learning methods during sessions, we approached the question of what belonging to a place means from various perspectives. We placed a strong emphasis on understanding different viewpoints and encouraged participants to assess their own situation and opportunities for promoting social sustainability through self-reflection. Another goal of our project was to encourage more conscious planning of youth workers' activities, placing the units of living space, home, and locality at the center. Among our objectives was also the expansion of the international network of participating professionals, the enrichment of professional connections, and the promotion of successful practices through sharing. Additionally, we aimed to expand their professional toolkit, facilitate learning from each other, and promote the Erasmus+ program among participants for future high-quality project implementation. Of course, the project aimed to use the previously developed intellectual products and carry out further promotional activities to reach as many people as possible.
