The youth unemployment rate is much higher, double or more than double the unemployment rate at any other age" (quoted on the official Eurostat website). Youth unemployment figures for 2008 show 16.1% in the EU and 16.9% in 2018 (figures for 2019 are incomplete and will be published in the first quarter of 2020). We chose to work with our partners in the above countries because the statistics are not drastically different over the years, with the exception of Greece, and are either down or up by several percent. So we can see what has happened over the years, pick out the best practices that seem to be working, and provide that information to young people so that they have a little broader perspective on the problem and possible solutions. Cultural differences and work habits are another reason to look at these countries. We have 6 different countries that have almost nothing in common, unlike France and Lettonia, Germany and Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, etc. So we will present, share and compare 6 different approaches and styles to find/create a job. We believe that this great diversity will be really fruitful for the outcome of the project as well as for the broadening of the young people's horizons towards cultures completely different from their own. We have been communicating with them over the past few months to build a solid program with 2 main segments: Find a Job and Create a Job. These two segments may seem completely different and not related at all at first glance, but it is exactly the opposite, because if you know how to present yourself in the best possible way and find a job, then presenting your idea and developing a business idea will not be very difficult either. We find that they are highly interconnected and that is why we decided with them to follow this path and implement them both. In our plans, it is already planned to continue this project in two new projects that separate these two areas. In the first project we focused only on youth unemployment and how to combat this problem by taking concrete measures at the local and regional level, while in the second we will focus on the development of a business idea and how to finance it. The main objective of the project is to provide young people with new knowledge and skills to improve their chances of finding a job or creating one themselves, by knowing how to advertise and present it properly. The objectives of the project were: - Increase their knowledge in the area of youth unemployment; - Improve the range of tools they can use to find solutions to problems; - Improve their CV and cover letter writing skills; - Improve the way they present themselves in job interviews; - Learn how to present themselves in 30 seconds. (Elevator Pitch); - Improve their presentation to the public; - Improve their public speaking and negotiation skills and defend their position; - Increase their knowledge of the Erasmus + program and how they can benefit from it in their future personal and professional development; - Increase their knowledge in the field of business idea development (market research, business plan preparation, marketing strategy preparation, etc.) - Promotion of their active citizenship; - Development of critical and analytical thinking skills; During the working days of the project, the participants were engaged in activities organized by professionals in the field - business owners, employees, recruiters, entrepreneurs, etc. The main elements we will focus on are: - How to write a good personal resume. - The motivational elements in our cover letter. - Clothing and behavior during the interview. - The secrets of verbal and non-verbal communication. - Youthpass. - The Europass CV. - The opportunities offered by the Erasmus + program. - Canvas business model and SWOT analysis. - How to be successful in 30 sec.
