New innovative curricula/educational methods/development of training coursesInclusion - equityYouth (Participation, Youth Work, Youth Policy)

Objectives

Our aim was to increase the participants' ability to enable social change through adaptive strategies for youth empowerment by gaining knowledge, skills and attitudes about intercultural learning, active listening. This training course was based on non-conventional and non-formal education with a self-directed learning approach and peer-to-peer interaction. In here the facilitators managed the activities that support the learning processes and guide the participants throughout discussions and interactive workshops on the relevant issues. In line with Horizon 2020, our project aimed to promote a participatory and inclusive approach that supports citizens to play an active role in their societies. To create this participatory and democratic society, on the one hand, the project supported common European values, intercultural understanding and the sense of belonging to the society in which young people live; while, on the other hand, it was carried out through activities aimed at preventing social challenges, including marginalisation and radicalization. The activities were developed bearing in mind the final objective to contribute to the development of inclusive and adaptive strategies to facilitate and support youth workers in their daily activities. To achieve our goals of inclusive and accessible education, adaptive activities and non-formal learning, we wanted to work with the person on the first line: educators, trainers, teachers, tutors, psychologist etc. We aimed to give them new tools, but also to share good practices, founding every activities on real life issues and cases. In this sense education and adaptability formed the basis of ASYE. Strategically, the importance of a participatory society for Europe is evident, for example, in the integration of refugees or in providing equal opportunities for women, disabled people and other vulnerable groups. Additionally, it is important for youth workers to go through the same learning process as their beneficiaries go through in their own lives, giving the participants an immersive experience. During this project, youth workers learnt innovative methods and tools to promote self discovery and empowerment, which they can now use with their beneficiaries in an adaptive way. The overall aim of this Training Course was to make participants more aware of their own strengths through a self-discovery journey, thereby supporting the emergence of this awareness among young people who will imitate them. The general objectives of this project were: - Provide tools for youth workers to support young people in making conscious choices and taking decisions about their lives by becoming more aware of themselves - Show youth workers how to deal with youth constructively when they feel emotionally weak and uncomfortable - Understand how youth workers' perceptions about themselves affect their behaviours - Make an easy transition from youth learning processes during the training course to their daily lives - Enable youth workers to reflect their own learning processes in the key competences of YouthPass - Develop thorough understanding of adaptive strategies and instruments and being able to use them when developing projects - Explore the Erasmus + programme and its actions as a capacity building tool for youth workers
