This project was born with a fundamental idea: the investments and actions implemented in recent years in terms of youth policies operated by municipalities, youth information and associations have not corresponded to a positive impact on young people. Over the years, the most sensitive administrations have set up sectors (or departments) that deal with youth policies with unstructured and impromptu tools. Other administrations have invested in spaces, renovating and retrofitting. Others have transferred the service to external associations, but this did not correspond to a transfer of capacity to officials and municipal staff. in practice, a department without the appropriate skills and experience cannot develop youth work in a short time (such as the political duration of an administration); often the employees in charge of youth centers and youth policies are administrators employed by youth work with no such background or experience of mobility and non-formal learning. Finally, the restored places are found to be empty boxes because they are not youth-friendly and there are no contents or an adequate offer. Therefore, with our project we wanted to train the staff of associations and municipalities that manage youth information or municipal services for young people. We wanted to bring the staff to acquire the necessary tools typical of youth work to be aware of their activity to be actors of change within the administrations where they operate and therefore to fill the meeting places they manage with content, tools and young people. The objectives of the project were as follows: 1 - Provide youth workers with tools to make their daily work more effective; 2 - To train youth workers to relate to political decision makers; 3 - Exchange good practices and new methods that can be replicated in different contexts; 4 - Learn more about youth policies and changes; 5 - Acquire new strategies to involve young people in active participation; 6 - What to offer in a youth information center run by a local authority.
