The main objective of the ALL EU CAN EAT project was to invite participants to seek out elements of their own culture related to food and food-related issues, thus deepening knowledge and awareness of their own cultural identity and that of others; to reflect on the processes, methods and consequences of actions related to food production and consumption; to develop a critical sense and seek concrete solutions. The medium of food, has fostered dialogue and learning among participants, allowing them to appreciate their cultural roots and identify themselves in a current European context. The goal was also to encourage the 30 participants (5 per nation) to take an attitude of openness and inclusion towards different cultures, both during the project itself and later in their daily lives and in their local context; to promote participation and active citizenship. This is to encourage further discussion of the issue within the community of origin and decrease intolerance and racism, through workshops and targeted activities involving especially young people. The specific objectives were: 1) To know, deepen and share their cultural identity through the medium of food. 2) To know and appreciate the cultural and culinary diversity of different European nations. 3) Raise awareness on participants about the issues of 'food waste' and 'sustainability'. 4) Promote the values of interculturality, integration and social inclusion through dialogue and sharing. 5) To develop in participants a sense of European citizenship and identity, promoting international cooperation and the Erasmus+ programme.
