During the youth exchange we successfully achieved the set goals with the participation of 40 people from Lithuania, Greece, Poland and Romania. The overall achievement of the Youth Exchange was that we managed to discuss and act with 40 participants on the topics of time management, time wasting, the importance of digital life and how it affects our real selves, and delved into coding and other STEAM topics. Firstly, we focused on helping everyone to better manage their time when using computers, tablets and phones. Participants gained new skills to use digital tools effectively. We also broadened the topic to STEAM careers and talked about how successful professionals, such as engineers and scientists, manage their time. We did this by inviting different role models to talk and showcase their professions. There was also a strong emphasis on digital life in general, what kind of value systems it creates and whether it's a good representation of real life. Secondly, we encouraged collaboration between different groups from different countries. As the group was international, of different ages and genders, we had a variety of get-to-know-you, team-building and non-formal activities that encouraged communication and a positive microclimate. Finally, we supported youth leaders and volunteers in learning practical and engaging ways to teach outside the traditional classroom. We also worked together to promote inclusivity and tackle racism by supporting those with fewer opportunities. We believe that the Youth Exchange was very successful, with all participants having a rewarding and enjoyable learning experience, while achieving these key objectives.
