The main activity of the project "Let me do it 2" was a Youth Exchange which was coordinated by the non-governmental organization "Solis Tuvāk." It took place in Liepāja, Latvia, from the 5th to the 15th of October 2022. This youth exchange brought together partners and participants from Poland, Greece, Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria and Latvia. By carrying out the Youth Exchange we aimed to connect people through various sports and outdoor games and learn methods and techniques on how to adapt the games to youngsters facing physical and mental disabilities. The main objectives of the project were as follows: 1. Allow the project participants to try different sports activities with the youngsters with special needs from different countries in this way promoting intercultural exchange 2. Promoting and ensuring accessibility in Erasmus+ mobilities; 3. Helping society in overcoming prejudices about people with mental and physical disabilities; 4. To promote the inclusion of various social groups in society; All the objectives of the project were reached through activities conducted with non-formal education techniques such as discussions, teamwork, "learning by doing," and various peer-to-peer methods. One of the primary goals of conducting this project was to bring together young people from diverse social and economic backgrounds and, through non-formal education approaches, help them not only acquire new skills but also build new friendships and connections across Europe. There were participants in this project who had never before collaborated with individuals with mental and physical disabilities, and this initiative encouraged them to view people with disabilities as equals and reject the dogma and prejudice that is being formed around this social group. The project genuinely fostered new connections served as an exchange of experience between institutions, NGOs, and youth workers, and promoted the principles of the European Union. Participants from Latvia were also customers of the Liepāja Day Centre meant for people facing mental disabilities, so we had a chance to visit the center and get to know their working methods, which brought extra value to this experience.
