Objectives

Many people, namely young people were strongly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and nobody was prepared for it. This drastically affected people in many different negative ways like economically, mentally, physically and socially. It is important to mention that many people lost their jobs, including adults and teenagers. Everybody thinks in the near future it will be problematically to find a new job. With our project, we want to give these people a solution to this problem. The people in this period of lockdowns had a lot of free time that they didn’t know how to use productively and beneficiary. This affected the mental state of young people. It was challenging to stay home for such a long period of time. We were not prepared to be “locked” at home, and the lack of communication and personal contact affected young people's mental health negatively. Also, it had a negative influence on education, as young people couldn’t attend school, and the schools didn’t have an online educational system prepared. None of this wouldn’t have happened if all of us were a little more informed, more tolerant and accepting to change and restrictions. Due to a lack of awareness, we gave an opportunity for the situation to worsen and the crisis to broaden up and become more global. Soon the pace of panic, constant news, and fake news was accelerating and it took over the media and the people. Soon the people weren’t following the rules and taking any precautions, they didn’t realise the danger of the situation. Our project was designed to raise awareness of how to get prepared for future emergency situations. As a result of panic, people are starting to become less patient and the chance of breaking the rules is higher. The project aimed to teach young people how to deal with crises like this. This youth exchange had the following objectives: • To raise awareness about the crisis, and how to deal with it; • To show ways how to work from home; • To educate young people on how to recognise fake news; • To show youngsters how to spend their time productively and how to plan; • To present ways how to improve their mental health in situations like this; • To explore digital platforms where people can educate themselves. • To introduce the Erasmus+ program as a tool for personal growth and cultural convergence; • To improve language skills and find new friends and partners; • To learn new cultures and traditions of participants' countries, in order to be able to deal with cultural differences in work environment; • To learn how to behave in a multicultural society; • To gain above mentioned competencies and skills through the Youthpass process – to learn about Youthpass and it’s potential. As a result of participating in the project, participants became more aware of the problem and got to know how to deal with crises like this. Also, they learnt about new online platforms where they can educate themselves and work from home online (Freelancing platforms). According to the priorities of the Macedonian National Agency for European educational programmes and mobility, the education and learning and promotion of European youth programmes and improving capacities of youth organisations were the first priorities for the year 2020.
