Objectives

The Youth Exchange UniqueCulture took place in Marsaslox Malta from 22 - 31 August 2021 were gathered 38 participants from the partner organisations from: Macedonia, Spain, Malta, Turkey, Serbia. We created the proposal for this project to address the need for intercultural dialogue between youth in Europe and promoting the different cultural identities that we have and why it shouldn't lead to exclusion from society. Here in our project we are focusing on differences based on national, cultural and religious differences and celebrate this diversity that co-exists in Europe. Art is a strong tool for self-expression, so this is why we would like to use photography, video and graffiti as tools to promote intercultural dialogue, cultural identity and diversity and promote inclusion of different cultures in Europe. With our project we want to foster mutual understanding between the people from different countries by promoting the country’s culture and customs, trough introducing the traditional music, songs, dances, food and allow them to freely express their cultural identity by using art as a tool, specifically photography, video and graffiti because they have a strong visual impact. Therefore, we want to gather young people from different countries and to promote what can be found in common, so they can find similarities among them and feel as one. The participant of this project will learn how European culture is rich with different cultures and ethnicity, but also how all youth around Europe are same in a way. In other words, the participants in the project and persons indirectly involved in the project that will think twice about every action they are going to do, from eating, to traveling and studying and so on. Through all session they will surly know more about all traditional music, dances and food in Europe, something that can encourage them to accept the differences. We believe that all participant after returning home from this projects will be full of inspiration, new ideas and they will be eager to give something back. AIM: Our project is exploring cultural diversity through folk music, songs, traditional clothes and foods and uses art as a method of cultural and self expression.
