The project was created willing to mis-match the lack of experience, learning and awareness of actors in the formal education in implementing non formal education and vice-versa. The project collected educators, teachers, youth workers involved in engaging young people in learning, so that they could learn new methodologies to better engage youth in the learning process. Nonformal learning and its benefits have been highlighted as a crucial tool for new skills for Europe, which can promote inclusion of young people facing difficulties at societal level. Non-formal and informal learning has been pushed into validation trials by different policy makers in an european level, as principles for Member States to introduce measures to allow young people make the most of what they learn outside formal education. These arguments were supported by the Education and Training Monitor 2019 and it was a support to our project to be developed as well. The importance of NFL, as learning, has rised in the Member States, in different fields of education as an attempt to engage young people in learning, preventing early drop outs. More often, individuals, parents and local community start drawing attention to alternative methods of learning, which have proofen engagement of the pupils and youngsters in learning based on own needs. As such, based on our experiences related to those arguments, the partners involved in this project gathered (as actors of Non-formal education and as educators) to learn and improve at professional level and implement this learning into a better impact in our work and in young people's learning. This idea has gathered actors of FE - schools, HEI and Colleges, together with NGOs to work on a better understanding of the practical way and possibilities of implementing nonformal education in the formal system. The Institutions of formal education involved in this project are schools willing to give more opportunities and better offer to their students, to try out tools of NFE and make a research on the student's response to learning. The NGOs, already working with NFE and young people, children and adults have experience in implementing those tools outside of the formal system, after school, in daily rooms, in workshops, in Summer Camps and events. As such, we collected all these partners in order to develop a more sustainable support both for teachers, pedagogues, educators and actors of formal education system; and, at the same time, gather youth workers who can help supporting the activities in schools, promoting a symbiosis which can lead to better environment at schools, and lead to a real impact on learning, diminuishing the lack between the content teachers need to deliver due the national curriculum and the young people's interest/needs. This way, we implemented two activities to gather educators, teachers, pedagogues and youth workers and youth leaders, to understand the young people's learning needs, the teachers struggle at national level; as well as develop and learn tools and activities which can be implemented in schools and formal insitutions of education to promote an active learner-center approach, in what concerns subjects missing in the schools and summarize the learning for future improvement. As such, the project combined one Training Course and one Seminar within its timeline. Training Course: we worked on the understanding of the real time Schools can spend in implementing workshops to develop soft skills; we gathered to discuss learning, education, LLL, NFE, IE&FE; as well as learn new tools and activities which can be implemented in the normal curriculum of students and its goals. We also worked on developing new tools to share the knowledge and skills of formal education system and curriculum through game based education After the educators and youth workers ended the TC, they went back to their countries to try the methologies, together; gather feedback and conclusions from their practices, which were later on summmed up in the Seminar. Seminar: We analzed the implementation of the activities at local level, shared feedback, difficulties and things which have worked well. At the same time, we drew solutions all together, from the European Network established in the Project. Project Objectives: - To deliver Nonformal education methods to actors in formal education system (teachers, educators, pedagogues, etc); - To understand better the concepts of Nonformal, formal and informal education; - To discuss methods and startegies to combine nonformal, informal and formal education into the education system; - To discuss challenges faced by teachers at national level; - To fight early drop outs among young people through innovative teaching and learning; - To develop partnerships and support at european level to overcome challenges faced in schools; - To work on formal education needs and discuss possible alternatives and improvement; - To get to know Erasmus+ and its opportunities.
