Objectives

The project idea was created with the need to understand the concept of SOLIDARITY more and explore ways to translate it into meaningful actions. COVID pandemics, war in Ukraine (and many other conflicts around the world, climate crisis and economical difficulties that we are recently facing, provided a new urgency to pay more attention to this European value and how we in youth work could contribute more in promoting it. This project gave the opportunity for us, the participants from 9 different countries and different youth work realities to come together and share our so far experiences and understanding about the solidarity, reflect on how we have been promoting it (or missing opportunities to do it…) though our daily youth work practices and projects and develop a more in-depth understanding and ideas on how to promote solidarity more effectively. On the other hand, we developed concrete youth project ideas that contribute to greater solidarity in our communities, so that we can implement them in 2023/2024. AIM that was set initially: The general aim of this project is to promote SOLIDARITY at 9 communities in 9 different countries by increasing competences of 27 youth workers to promote it among young people (and peers) in regular youth work activities as well as through developed youth projects with a strong solidarity dimension. OBJECTIVES: - To discuss the meaning and our understanding of concept of solidarity and share real-life examples of solidarity (or lack of solidarity) in our communities - To discuss the role of young people and youth work in promoting solidarity (both through daily actions and our approach as well as through youth policies and special projects) - To explore non-formal learning tools that support understanding different dimensions of solidarity and thus be able to “explain” it to own communities in a better way - To explore opportunities of developing youth projects within Erasmus+/European Solidarity Corps programmes, and developing 6-7 project youth exchange/solidarity project ideas with a strong solidarity dimension - To support young people in our communities to implement projects that support solidarity in 2022/2023
