Our project "Inclusion beyond the art" was created as a result of a meeting of young blind and visually impaired people from Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. We had common needs and a common vision and plan for an international meeting. Our meeting served: - organization of an exhibition with artistic installations adapted to be received by the blind. For this purpose, we used all the senses: audio description, music, smell, 3D models. We were inspired by works of contemporary art from partner countries, which we discovered and interpreted together. This allowed us to learn more about the culture and art of a given country. - establishing international cooperation, which allowed us, among other things, to meet other peers from EU countries and to gain knowledge about the European Union itself. - increasing awareness of the concept of tolerance, including the importance of equal participation in social and cultural life of people with disabilities. Changing the attitude related to the stigmatization of blind people and stereotypes that are harmful to them; - increasing awareness related to culture and art accessible to people with disabilities by conducting surveys and visits to cultural institutions in our local communities
