Objectives

The project was developed and prepared by participants of youth exchanges whom we had the opportunity to host on our projects last year. The main initiators of the activities are young people gathered at our Foundation within the informal group Mazurian Initiative. The youth responsible for project preparation, based on their previous experience in participation and organization of projects under the Erasmus + program, developed the initial concept of a new project as early as last year. Then we decided to jointly conduct a series of meetings of participants - personal and on Skype - as well as video conferencing with partner organizations, which allowed us to jointly reflect on transforming the challenges into specific goals. Further discussions also clarified other needs that should be taken into account at the planning stage of project activities and during the exchange. The goals of the project will be: - meeting people raised in other cultures and belonging to another nation; - increasing participants' confidence and belief in their own skills; - overcoming language barriers and developing communication skills in English; - learning to work in an international team, undertaking practical challenges together; - development of personal competences in the field of communication and self-presentation; - development of social competences and cooperation skills; - increasing competence in the preparation and conduct of international activities, as well as developing the skills to evaluate and summarize project activities; - getting to know another culture, language, traditions and customs, as well as getting to know one's own in order to present them to representatives of the second group; - developing the ability to conduct promotional activities on social media and to share the results of undertaken activities in general; In our opinion, these goals are the answer to the fundamental challenges posed by the Erasmus + program. The project will primarily be an opportunity for young people to meet peers from other countries participating in the program, establish contacts based on joint action and undertake activities developing the potential of international cooperation. Secondly, it will be a chance for project participants to develop competences that are an important element of their good start on the labor market, especially if they want to work in international enterprises or on foreign markets. The implementation of exchanges is part of the activities of our organizations. Our cooperation will increase our competences, as well as the possibilities to deepen international cooperation and create a platform for cooperation for young people from different countries. We hope to conduct such activities in an increasingly professional manner and increase the scale of our ventures with our partner organizations. For years, we have been working with partner organizations to implement projects for young people. Our organizations also participate jointly in projects in other countries. Together with all organizations we will implement the project "We get to know other cultures through joint action", regarding culture and European integration. Equally important, language competences acquired from participation in the project will constitute an important personal, social and professional resource, allowing for increasing the life mobility of young people involved in the future. Just getting to know other cultures should also translate into increased openness and tolerance towards representatives of other nations and cultures, increased ability to cooperate with them, as well as the desire to engage in international activities privately and professionally. Through the involvement of participants at every stage - from submitting the initiative, through participation in the preparation, implementation of the exchange and dissemination of results to evaluation and summary of activities - they will also have the opportunity to learn how to apply good patterns of project approach to action and taking action on an international scale. We hope that thanks to this we will be able to instill in them the need to pursue activities striving to further develop international partnerships under the Erasmus + program and other actions with similar goals. All exchange classes will be conducted using active methods, in line with the rules of non-formal education, including integration workshops. Active participation in the preparation and conducting of such classes will be an opportunity for participants to learn their methodology, which may become an inspiration to conduct similar activities in their surroundings and as part of other youth initiatives. Also, the impact that participation in the exchange will have on the attitudes of young people towards other people will be in our opinion a significant impact on changing the approach to representatives of other cultures in the local environment from which the participants originate.
