The needs behind this project, identified by all the involved organizations thanks to their previous experience in activities on Social Entrepreneurship and a detailed evaluation of those previous projects, were the following: - to let youthworkers see on their own eyes real examples of social enterprises so participants can relate to it and get more involved. - to go deeper and more practical into digital tools and other ways to promote the enterprise. Our idea was that this topic, when approached, is always approached very generally without real input from professionals on stuff like budgeting, fundraising, presenting the idea to potential investors, using digital tools to promote the enterprise. We had managed to get two professional trainers, who specialize in the topic of budgeting and running a SE (Ondrej Podlesak) and digital tools and promotion (Helena Leszczynska). Need of the topic: Social enterprises are considered to be the best way to include people with fewer opportunities to society by giving them the chance to earn money and be independent, while raising their self-esteem. Our previous project on this topic showed that young people still do not completely understand the right way to use this form of business as a tool for making changes in their communities. Nowadays, when the EU is facing serious challenges in terms of social exclusion, unemployment and demographic change, social enterprises play a significant role in strengthening people’s prospects in both society and the labor market. The project aimed to raise a new generation of youthworkers, who are able to use social entrepreneurship as a sustainable model for their activities. We invited participants to skip the trying-and-failing method many social entrepreneurs took and instead join us on a journey of hard and soft skills needed to run a successful business with social impact. While many countries are facing big unemployment (and it will get worse due to coronavirus), especially amongst the youth, we wanted to offer this competency to help fight this problem. Objectives of the project were: - To study existing examples of social enterprises through on-site visits and research. - To create a common understanding of social entrepreneurship, sustainability and their benefits. - To enhance participants’ ICT skills, namely creating digital materials and online research of data. - To support participants in developing realistic models of social enterprises - To promote including people with fewer opportunities through various projects and activities
