Objectives

The premise of the project was the interest of young people in ecology, environmental protection and care for the future planets. Thanks to the project, the young people wanted to eliminate the perceived problems together, 'repair' the damage and prevent it from making mistakes in the future. It was a fantastic ground for liberation in their creativity, common actions, establishing and maintaining friendly relations and lasting partnership for the future - for the good of the planet and us everyone. The main goal of the project was to raise/acquire knowledge and broaden reflection on why it is worth it and how it is easy to take care of the environment on a daily basis, as well as to raise ecological awareness and the will to act on it for nature, constituting the 1st step to activity on a wider scale. As part of non-formal education, they were supposed to have an opportunity to carry out tasks related to ecology and implement them in life, to cause positive changes, e.g. in the community local government, its authorities and perhaps at higher level. "Act locally - think globally!" was our motto. We wanted to implement measures to repair and prevent environmental damage, minimize the risk of their occurrence, including raising awareness and promoting the obligation to use them, e.g. through rational and economical use of available resources, recycling, etc. Our goal was therefore to improve relations, deepen integration with Ukrainian youth, between generations, partner organizations, local communities and its authorities, inspiring everyone around to raise knowledge, environmental awareness and cooperation for greater care for the environment. Nature and our common future. In order to meet the various problems diagnosed by the young people, they were supposed to have an opportunity in the project non-formal learning, through experience, acquiring knowledge and developing one's interests, improving competences and professional qualifications, etc. Thanks to a series of different workshops (practical with elements of theory), young people under the guidance of specialists, they were to exchange experiences and acquire/expand knowledge in the field of environmental protection, the goal preparation of the base for work on the creation of plans and materials, as well as the very implementation of the infrastructures assumed in the project (e.g. Children's Alleys, EKOpunkt, etc.), and materials promoting the EKO ideas, the project itself and serving to disseminate its results. The project was supposed to be an opportunity to get to know each other, other cultures, traditions and to build friendly relations prejudices and stereotypes, going out to the local community and involving it in the project, workshops and evenings of HiT culture, getting to know the surroundings. The project also enabled non-formal learning of the Ukrainian and Polish languages (e.g. through language animations), breaking barriers in communication; acquisition of many soft skills and competences and their use in practice, e.g. getting rid of the fear of self-presentation; awareness of the role of teamwork, openness and tolerance for diversity (which is common, not only in international groups). All this was to meet the objectives of Erasmus+, in raising the level of key competences and skills of young people with fewer opportunities, promoting intercultural dialogue, improving the quality of work with youth.
