Young people in Europe and the world today still face obstacles in accessing their rights. When young people are in between two periods of human life, childhood and adulthood, they face various types of discrimination such as access to education, quality jobs, social protection and full access to their civil and political rights, which limits their potential and growth. Although the existing human rights frameworks are universal, specific protective measures are still needed to combat discrimination against young people and to ensure that their rights are fully recognized and protected by all countries in Europe. For this reason, given this reality, the Youth Rights project had a component of content creation by the participants in a first phase of the exchange and then they implemented the material created in school space, because we believe that to enforce the rights of youth was the way to achieve the objectives intended in the project. With Youth Rights we gave voice to the rights of the youth, because the youth reality in the communities of the consortia feel they have no voice in several areas. Thus, by reinforcing the importance of being young and having rights, we believe we can change the future of the European youth generation. Voluntários Cais dos Lethes is an organization that since its existence has as one of its focuses the actions for the promotion of Gender Equality, Citizenship and Non-Discrimination. Based on the actions and gathered from a consortium with partners with the same reality with the development of this project, we met the needs of young Europeans. The objectives of the project were to create an awareness campaign about youth rights focusing on youth leaders and young people who had the opportunity to create content and implement it locally. The implementation of an awareness campaign about youth rights with an involvement of young people to combat this reality and with implementation in school communities and also in the organizations involved was the challenge set to all the project's participants. In the development of the project it was intended to create dissemination material for a campaign to raise awareness about youth rights and thus reinforce the importance of structured dialogue that aims to promote the active participation of young people in democratic life and foster debate around the main issues affecting youth. For the success of the YouthRights project the development of several awareness raising actions in the district of Viana do Castelo and in the communities where the partner organizations are part of was foreseen as a way to have a direct impact locally and internationally. For capacity building and solidification of the project we emphasized the knowledge of the European working bodies and decision making process and the importance of youth rights focused through the European Youth Forum, a body that intends to reinforce youth rights in these areas: Freedom to live without discrimination; Health; Freedom of assembly and association; Participation in public affairs; Education; Housing; Work; Freedom of Expression. For the development of this project, the participants were involved from the beginning of the project in all its phases, as a result of listening to them and in a fully structured dialogue. This methodology is very important for the development of youth rights and the success of this project. In the course of this project, in communion with the program objectives and the priorities of the Erasmus+ National Agency, we intend to: . Improve the level of key competences and skills of young people; . Promote improvements in the quality of youth work, including through enhanced cooperation between organizations; . To promote knowledge and information on policy reforms; . To increase the international dimension of youth activities and the role of youth workers and youth organizations; . To promote the recognition of skills gained and the tools available for this; . To promote the complementarity of formal and non-formal education, vocational training, employment and entrepreneurship; . To promote structured dialogue and policies for Youth, a principle of the Erasmus + program.
