Objectives

Even though in recent years, Europe understands young people as the main driver of social development and transformation, progress and political change, youngsters still face immense challenges and obstacles leading to social exclusion: discrimination, prejudice, unemployment, radicalization, school dropout. Although numerous initiatives have been created to respond to the needs of young people, with the fast pace of social development, it was detected, more than ever, a demand for the immense adaptability on the part of Youth Workers (YW). To provide all the necessary support to young people, it is essential that the YW are in a constant process of learning, developing skills and updating tools and work methodologies, becoming able to promote initiatives that allow the active involvement of young people in the sustainable development of Europe. This project arises, therefore, with the intention of bringing together the best practices in the management and implementation of youth projects and volunteering, as a way to identify and give concrete answers to still recurrent failures in the implementation and management of social volunteering projects that intensify situations of social exclusion and lack of motivation for community participation by young people due to the lack of references, skills and knowledge on the part of associations and YW. Enable them to create initiatives that effectively create impacts and allow supporting young people in solving their challenges, considering the diversity and interculturality of Europe, its common values and the needs, expectations, personal goals, and fears of young people. The needs detected in synergy by the organizations that make up the consortium were: - Implementation of changes in youth strategies to enhance social inclusion. - Empowerment of YWs for the effective management and implementation of social and volunteer projects under Erasmus + and other European programs. - Empowerment of YW with new methodologies, tools and knowledge resulting in the increase of their influence and ability to work with young people. - Enhancement of the Non-Formal Education (ENF) methodology as the privileged methodology in social and volunteer projects in addition to Informal and Formal Education (EI and EF). - Transformation of social reality, through the sharing of guidelines that guarantee the quality of the intervention of YW and organizations with young people. To this end, the consortium developed a project, and a specific activity (Seminar) that allowed bringing together experts in the management and implementation of social projects and/or volunteering, so that it was possible to develop a specialized, in-depth, and informed debate and to strengthen cooperation between organizations, YW, young people and other stakeholders, such as policy makers. OBJECTIVES a) General To socially include young people, through the increase of benchmarks, skills and knowledge about tools and methodologies by YWs and organizations for the effective management and implementation of inclusive youth strategies, namely at the level of social and volunteering projects. b) Specific -To bring together organizations and YW specialized in the management of social and volunteering projects to discuss, share experiences, know-how and practices and to reflect and compile good practices aimed at solving youth problems; -Provide key information on social and volunteering projects in the youth field to enable them to run activities with effectiveness, quality and success; -To enable YW to develop skills and learning; -To qualify YW for the definition of current youth strategies, adjusted and contextualized to the social reality of young people; -To raise awareness of the ENF methodology in the dynamization of social and voluntary projects; -To promote social and intercultural dialogue for the promotion of the resolution of youth problems; -To internationalize the participating organizations, reinforcing existing partnerships and consolidating the work developed; -Raise awareness about the philosophy of projects developed under European programs such as Erasmus+. From this project emerged the Good Practices of Project's Management and Implementation on Youth (social projects and volunteering), which compiled a set of good practices in the management and implementation of social projects and volunteering. This tangible result was widely disseminated to allow its exploitation and, thus, the dialogue and the incorporation of good practices by other organizations that work in the youth field, making effective the potential impact of the project, resulting in the improvement of the quality on the intervention of organizations and YWs, since they have more skills and knowledge of new tools and methodologies that allow them to act effectively and close to young people, considering their problems, obstacles, needs, fears, and expectations.
