Objectives

As now we are living in the 21st century which requires being online in terms of everything, also use of internet, it means that we can collaborate and communicate, and you need to do that not only the people you face with but also those that you encounter in digital world. For young people to engage and keep up to date with the digital evolution that affects their day-to-day offline and online activities, having the proper digital competencies is important. But still, some of young people are not aware of the fact that as well as there are positive sides of internet usage such as reaching various sources for anything you want, or communicating with some one miles far away, being an e-volunteer, etc, there are also negative aspects of internet usage such as cyberbullying, online hate speech, exposing to fake news and so on. The idea of the project comes from Proformare’s local volunteers due to the current pandemic situation all around the World. The volunteers have to stay home, but still want to reach the society somehow and they realized that they have a huge potential to manage this and it is internet. They claim that, there is a need for all the youngsters to be active by using internet and technology in order to reach the needs of society. The aim of the project is to promote online activism, youth involvement and citizenship through internet. By implementing this project, we want to reach more young people to show them that being online and doing something useful for the society from their computer or mobile phone by connecting to internet is not so difficult and besides the affects of internet can be more effective than they expect. We want them to be more active in online platforms, promote being online and raise their voice and make it heard from people and be a part of the change in the society. The needs of Romanian participants are to learn how to cope with the online hate that they are exposed in internet because the are Roma, and they want to have more digital access in order to be able to be more active in the society to show what the reality is in their community. Our Bulgarian participants want to implement this project because they are living in bad economic situations with their families, most of them are digitally excluded and they want to learn more about the opportunities of internet and get more information about the negative aspects of internet. The needs of our Turkish and German participants to implement this project are mainly related to their situation of being migrant in a different country. The participants with fewer opportunities want to turn this project in a huge opportunity for them to learn more about being online and mostly learn to defend themselves against the hate speech they exposed, and all of them want to prepare this project in order to be more active for the topic which are related to make the society better that they live together. Lithuanian participants want to implement this project in order to learn how to be more active as online in the meaning of citizenship. Their need is to adapt their activities that they have been implementing till now into online platforms. Spanish participants want to create this opportunity for themselves because they are living in remote areas so most of the time they are remaining socially excluded. They want to learn how to use internet to be digitally more included and be more active in their activities and also especially they want to learn what the dangerous parts of internet are in order to keep them safe while being online.
