The project was a spontaneous initiative, which appeared as a result of the participation of some members of the host organization in a youth exchange in Istanbul, in February 2020. Analyzing the level of education of young people in European countries resulting from the statistics published by the European Parliament, young people from the organizations that later formed the partnership to create this exchange of young people, we found that there is a real need to create a favorable context to contribute to reducing the number of life-threatening accidents and at the same time. Thus, the main objective of the project was to increase the skills necessary to provide first aid in emergency situations. More specifically, we proposed the following: - Optimizing the skills of a number of 30 young people and 6 group leaders from 6 countries to identify emergency situations, during a youth exchange that will last 8 days; - Development of a basic set of skills for voluntary intervention in emergency situations such as: traffic accidents, drowning, burns, electrocution, falls from a height, drug overdose, trauma from assaults, common medical conditions, first aid psychological for 30 young people and 6 group leaders from 6 countries, during a youth exchange that will last 8 days - Providing support to a number of 30 young people and 6 group leaders from 6 countries to identify volunteering contexts in the field of first aid. At the same time, through this project we proposed to capitalize and promote European values such as: inclusion, safety, respect, tolerance, physical well-being and health, responsibility, volunteering, active citizenship. In this sense, we brought together young people from different countries, cultures and environments, prioritizing those young people with limited opportunities, to offer them information delivered through a constructive dialogue and through qualitative and diversified learning methods. We also set out to encourage non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, youth cooperation with partner countries and other related objectives.
