Objectives

WILD MIND is a project focused on improving the mental wellbeing and the social skills of youngsters through various outdoor activities. Our intention is to create a playground for young people facing difficulties in social contexts in which they can spend quality time with each other, create a sustainable community by living and working together, design/implement their own activities and exchange different forms of inclusion through all this. The project itself consists of two main activities: APV: 8-9 August 2020 in Sovata, Romania YE: 1 - 11 October 2020 in Sovata, Romania During the project, we are going to work with young adults between the age of 18-23 years. Based on our selection criteria 75% of our participants will have interaction, cooperation, and learning difficulties when being in different social contexts. Both our participants and GLs are going to be people who are interested in developing themselves in a group set up through nature and games. The countries involved are Romania, Czechia, Bulgaria, Austria, Latvia, Portugal, and Spain. The objectives of this exchange are: - to bring together 35 young adults (between the age of 18-23) from which 75% are having difficulties in social contexts; - to improve the mental wellbeing and the social skills of these participants through outdoor games, activities, practical tasks and field trips; - to create situations in which these youngsters have the chance to plan their own activities, work together in smaller groups and practice different ways how to include each other; - to encourage their active participation and to support them in gaining communication, organization, cooperation skills through simple tasks such as preparing meals or taking care of the accommodation, as well as designing and implementing at least 14 outdoor activities for each other; - to create and disseminate 7 articles about the project (1 per partner); - to promote non-formal learning opportunities in the surroundings of the hosting and sending organization with promotional materials (articles and visuals) created by us and the participants; - to interact and find different ways of working with the local Romanian community through assignments; - to organize 7 mental wellbeing workshops (1 per partner) in the local communities of the participants after the exchange activity; - to ensure that the evaluation of the learning happens during the project through 35 Youthpasses and 35 Questionnaires. The APV is going to focus on creating a connection with the topic of inclusion and active citizenship, as well as experiencing a demo version of the exchange activity, practicing the activities designed by our participants in order to measure their impact in this specific context and creating common working agreements that will support us throughout the project. During the YE the participants will get familiar with the topic of the project by exchanging their own knowledge, by getting in touch with the local community, by arranging simple tasks (taking care of their own living spaces in the OB center, preparing meals during the excursions), by playing and organizing various outdoor activities in order to improve their skill of cooperation and mental wellbeing and discover different ways of working within a group and by facing different situations in which they can see the impact that their active participation can bring. We are going to work with interactive activities in a natural context in order to create a new and playful approach to social inclusion and mental wellbeing. This working method comes from our vision and experience that learning can only happen when excitement and fun is included, doing tasks in a playful manner is a simple way to invite people to learn and discover. Through team-building games, practical tasks and other activities happening outside we are planning to create a space for personal and professional growth, meaning that the participants will have the chance to work with each other in different settings, complete different assignments, include each other in the process of creation and discover various aspects of working in a team, while improving the skill of cooperation, communication, initiation, etc. All this will lead to self-confidence, confidence in working, and communicating with people, realizing different ideas in a productive way, and including different points of view in the process of creation. After the YE our main focus will be spreading the dissemination materials (visuals and articles) in the local communities. Together with our partners we will evaluate the whole process and its results and spread them along with other learning opportunities within Erasmus+. We believe that the project will create an impact on multiple levels: our partners (including us) will discover new and easily applicable ways of inclusion, while our participants and their close environment will get more experience and awareness regarding Erasmus+ opportunities.
