Objectives

A study by the Health Effects Institute (HEI) shows that only 5% of the world's population still breathes fresh air. The situation is dramatic in poor countries, and the gap between them and developed countries is widening from year to year. HEI estimates that 6.1 million people worldwide died from pollution in 2016. In fact, 11% of deaths in 2016 were caused by air pollution. At the same time, plastic production has grown exponentially in just a few decades - from 1.5 million tonnes in 1950 to 322 million tonnes in 2015 worldwide - and with it the amount of plastic waste. Lately, the European Union and the Member States have begun to put more and more emphasis on recycling, using less plastic, protecting the forest, taking action against car pollution and promoting environmental education. In the summer of 2019, after the great media debate about the burning of the Amazon forest, the young people and volunteers of the Association proposed us to have a youth exchange where we can learn more about environmental protection, pollution in general and how we can recycle materials reducing pollution. At the same time, they began to develop local activities to promote environmental protection and realized that they did not have information and knowledge on this subject. After this proposal, we contacted our international partners and asked them if the young people they work with carry out greening and recycling activities. They told us that they like to develop outdoor activities, to recycle and to do cycling activities and that they pay attention to garbage collection when they do camping or trekking activities. Following this information, we and our partners decided to implement an exchange of experience "I want to break free", where we will prepare a group of young people to be more aware of the environment and what it means to cooperate with existing actors who work in the field of recycling. We will show them how important it is to keep a clean nature but also the ideas that young people can develop using waste. All the objectives we want to achieve in this project are related to the EU 2020 target. All partners believe that sharing an exchange of knowledge and good practices on recycling for 48 young people would be a great addition to ensure their active participation in local communities. In fact, through this project we will share with participants the needs and the problem of pollution at national and European level. The objectives we want to achieve with this project are the following: - Increasing the level of recycling at local and national level; - Development of artistic and artisanal knowledge of young people using raw materials; The objectives that we will achieve through this project are: - Increasing the knowledge of 48 young people about environmental protection during the project; - Increasing the knowledge of 48 young people about the three 3 Rs of recycling within the project "Reduce, reuse, recycle"; - Developing a sense of initiative, participation and involvement in 48 young people during the implementation of the project; - Increasing the creativity of 48 young people in the use of recycled materials during the project; All the objectives we wanted to achieve are related to the E + KA1 objectives: Connecting with the objectives of the E + program: Our project promotes the involvement of young people in recognizing the recycling situation at local and national level and how they can cooperate with community programs; It also contributes to the promotion of European values related to the environment and cooperation. The 48 young people shared new tools to respect the environment and to reduce the impact of their actions on the environment; With this project we aimed at the following problem: - Lack of creativity and low knowledge about the contribution of young people to the clean environment; - Knowing the level of pollution in rural areas and waste disposal; - Isolation and loneliness of young people in communities.
