"Hooliganism" is the term used broadly to describe disorderly, aggressive and often violent behaviour perpetrated by spectators at sporting events.Today, the highest profile hooliganism problems tend to occur in relation to international matches and events. In all countries, some gangs of hooligans share other characteristics, interests, and beliefs that incline them towards violent conduct, including links to far-right and racist organisations. Others, however, are apolitical and are simply composed of men who enjoy fighting. In order to address this issue, youth organizations from seven different countries united for this project. Erasmus+ youth exchange "Near the Sport" amied to prevent discrimination and prejudice in the sport industry and to promote tolerance, equality and support. The project focused on the positive values in the sport such as friendship, unity, respect, and fair-play. The objectives of our project were to: 1. Promote fair-play in sport and everyday life, 2. Recognise the factors pushing the youth into hooliganism, 3. Recognising the issues Hooliganism can pose in the individual's physical and psychological wellbeing, 4. Explore participants' behaviours about violence to raise awareness and raise awareness of the issue, 5. Promote the constructive engagement and socialisation of young people. 6. Create a space for learning, sharing and networking. 7. To improve the understanding of young people as a whole and to foster the values of democracy and equality. 8. Promoting EU ideals and cultivating a shared European community. 9. Develop a European youth group that will use their experience to create long-lasting friendships and help foster tolerance and peace among peoples. The specific objective pursued by the Erasmus+ Programme in the field of sport was to: tackle cross border threats to the integrity of sport, such as doping, match fixing and violence, as well as all kinds of intolerance and discrimination. This project allowed young people to: develop competences; become aware of socially relevant topics - hooliganism; discover new cultures, habits and lifestyles, mainly through peer learning; strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, friendship, etc. The learning process in this Youth Exchange was triggered by methods of non formal education.
