Objectives

During the youth exchange "Humanship” that aimed at developing intercultural competencies among young people, Framtidståget and the project’s partners have discussed that there is an increasing need for youth workers to develop their skills in facilitating non-formal education activities for young people to be able to deliver activities of a higher quality on the local level. In addition, there is a need for sharing new tools and experiences in the field of intercultural dialogue, as many youth projects are using the same methods and there is a lack of innovation. As a result of that discussion, we have decided to apply for a seminar “Diversity Boost” that took our work and the work of our partners in the field of intercultural dialogue to a new level. In addition to the issues outlined above, it aimed to address the need for creating new and strengthening existing partnerships between youth organizations in EU and non-EU countries. The seminar “Diversity Boost” took place in Larache, Morocco, and brought together 28 youth workers from 6 countries with the following objectives: 1. Developing youth workers’ competencies in facilitating non-formal education activities for developing intercultural competencies among young people; 2. Sharing of youth work experience and non-formal education methods in the field of diversity and intercultural dialogue; 3. Enhancing youth workers’ intercultural competencies, and skills in promoting values of tolerance, diversity, intercultural dialogue, and peaceful resolution of conflicts among young people; 4. Enabling increased cooperation between youth organizations and youth workers in Europe and neighboring countries to promote intercultural dialogue and diversity.
