Objectives

Our project’s aim was to prepare young migrants with knowledge for the job market itself and provide us with practical know-how on planning, implementing and getting through the obstacles of starting a business on our own in a new country, which often means getting BACK to BUSINESS after a big life change. This project tackled the push&pull factors to entrepreneurship among immigrants, the role of the family as a context of socialisation and source of support (with a special focus on the importance of social capital) as well as the networks needed for success. Objectives: Equip participants with competencies on self-marketing and branding methods in order to make youth gain self-confidence; Raise awareness of the importance of social inclusion by providing participants with practical knowledge about (social) entrepreneurship; Exchange best immigrants entrepreneur practices, ideas and initiatives; Empower participants to be able to start their own business by developing necessary skills and competencies related to online and offline business; Develop NFE tools to disseminate positive results of the project and create a booklet on “Back to Business: Migrants Guide”; Empower youth through non-formal education tools to become better agents of immigrant integration, intercultural dialogue and no hate speech, back in their home societies; Understand social, cultural and economic difference between immigrants based in partner countries and to promote the values of respect, solidarity, inclusion, equality; Provide a safe and inspiring environment to encourage future collaborations and projects with a special focus on young immigrants with fewer opportunities. This exchange brought together 54 youth and migrants from Lithuania, Slovakia, Serbia, Italy, Greece, Malta, Spain, Turkey and Sweden, who met in Floda, Sweden and experienced the impact of the above-mentioned topics on their personal and professional life. Facilitators gave their best support to participants to equip them with the practical strategies and NFE tools to develop competencies and/or launch their own businesses. With its international background and creativity, this project has enhanced activities that strongly support Erasmus + objectives, especially those for YEs-reaching to marginalised groups and raising a sense of initiative. We have targeted excluded youth in order to improve their quality of life and wellbeing. The learning environment of the YE fostered international cooperation and dialogue, multilingualism and multi-ethnicity as well as inclusion and integration of migrants and tolerance towards them (specific priority of youth work in SE). Moreover, we wish the tool created as a final product of the YE, to reinforce European open learning resources and bring out the results of our project on an international level, which also links our objectives with Erasmus + Programme assumptions.
