Objectives

With the "Our Rights - Our Health" project, we connected 40 young participants from 6 EU countries, who worked together for 11 days, learned new things, developed as individuals and created quality ideas for the common good of their communities. During the youth exchange activities, the participants developed valuable life skills, such as critical thinking, creative expression, taking responsibility with solidarity, empathy for fellow human beings and understanding the importance of human rights. The main goal of this project was to bring young people closer to the field of human rights, to be aware of them, to respect and advocate for them in themselves and other members of society in normal everyday life and also during special circumstances, such as the current pandemic of the COVID 19 virus, which we successfully carried out. Other goals of the project were the promotion of European cooperation in the field of youth and the acquisition of greater capacity of partner organizations to operate at the EU and international level, the promotion of mobility opportunities for young people, since in this way young people can acquire many skills for greater competitiveness on the labor market, promotion of cultural diversity and hence tolerance, acceptance of differences, respect and freedom, as we brought together young people from six different countries, cultures and languages. The topic of human rights is firmly connected with Erasmus + priorities and with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027, in which the empowerment of young people in achieving EU goals is particularly emphasized and highlighted, which is why the project was so important for our young people. It also advocates that certain principles should be taken into account in all policies and activities related to young people, including equality and non-discrimination, also in terms of gender equality and inclusion, taking into account that young people are not a homogeneous group and that they have different needs. Through the project, we helped young people realize their own potential and realize the impact they can have on the world and in their own development and the development of important skills. Young people were actively involved in all phases of this project, as they themselves highlighted this issue as one of the current topical and key for their future.
