Objectives

With the project, we wanted to strengthen the competencies of mentors in the field of non -formal learning methods that are related to intercultural learning, development of belonging to a new cultural environment and social activation - the involvement of young immigrants and refugees in sustainable tourism. At Terra Vera, we are included in the European Migrantour city network. Through training, we develop the competencies of immigrants and refugees they need for the role of guides in intercultural Ljubljana, who present to visitors the influences of migration on the cultural heritage of cities in the past and present during the walk. In 2019, we established three intercultural itinerary in Ljubljana with guides from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Palestine, Croatia and Colombia. The walk reveals the hidden side of cultural monuments and sights. In the period before the epidemic began, we noticed that more and more young people were interested in this area. Some were interested in the role of the guide, while others saw this initiative as a way of integrating into the new cultural environment, finding spatial connections between the culture they bring and the new environment. The project was not only aimed at 'immigrants and refugees, but also to young people from the local environment and beyond - by discovering intercultural influences on markets and streets, they also expand their horizons while reducing stereotypes and prejudices. Direct contact and positive mutual experience are also certain. Given the growing social needs, we wanted to include as many young people as possible in this initiative, and we were aware that existing methods and techniques of learning about the city needed to be adapted in a way that is accessible to young people and in accordance with the strengthening of eight key competences. Some of the already trained intercultural guides already have experience in working with young people, and with the project we wanted to enable the project to be well developed, to strengthen their competences and knowledge for the involvement of young immigrants and the knowledge of young immigrants, when visiting Paris organization, which has the mechanisms of training of young people in the Migrantour initiative. refugees in this area. Namely, the methods of integrating young immigrants and refugees, based on the development of belonging to the new environment, contributes to the development of new narrows on migration and is also relevant to other organizations and strengthening of the sector, as it contributes to active participation in society. The project developed intercultural educational methods at national and European levels, and consequently reduced the impact of discrimination and intolerance. At the same time, we have expanded the recognized and award -winning Migrantour methodology as an innovative and sustainable tool for intercultural inclusion and education in order to change the migrant 'crisis' into a new occasion of the future. In this way, we have developed the potential and entrepreneurial possibilities of the target group and enabled the exchange and implementation of tools for the social inclusion of immigrants and refugees that work effectively in the environmental organization. After the visit, the acquired tools of non -formal learning were included directly in the activities of guided walks we carry out and thus presented them to the general public, other organizations and stakeholders.
