The purpose of the Sustainmobility adventure project was to equip young people with the competences to make travel choices that are more environmentally responsible and respectful of different cultures. The goals of the project were: illumination of understanding and respect of/for different cultures, developing practical experience in sustainable tourism, enabling a more holistic and critical consideration of tourism, travel, and any kind of mobility for project participants, young people (participants) acquire knowledge in the field of mass tourism and aspects of sustainable development, young people (participants) understand the connection between their own choices and the impact on the tourist destination, and the local population and create a respectful attitude towards different cultures, young people (participants) acquire competencies for future more responsible and sustainable travel choices and strengthening the competences of communication, evaluation, self-reflection, group work, intercultural interactions, public speaking, and critical thinking among the participants. One of the goals was to influence both the young participants and the exchange preparers/organizers. All stakeholders evaluated their previous travel styles and answered the question of how to be a good tourist. They were examining the impact of their own travel choices on the environments they entered. Through the formed intercultural group, the young participants learned about the various cultural riches that those who are 'different' from us have. In addition to influencing all exchange participants, the goal of the project was also to prepare a tool with guidelines for sustainable travel, which is collected in the document Practical guidelines for sustainable travel. We prepared the latter with participants from the program and partner organizations at two exchanges, representing the core activities of the project.
