Objectives

Through implementing the project „Sport it!“, our team of professionals aimed at shaping a concept of health (and all related issues, such as healthy lifestyle) among participants from 6 European countries. The main objectives of the Youth Exchange were: 1. To explore the concept of a healthy lifestyle and health-related practices; 2. To discuss current issues related to the nutrition, sports, and social exclusion through sharing good practices and experiences related to prevention of diseases (caused by lack of exercise and poor eating habits), and using sport as a social inclusive method; 3. To provide participants with theoretical and practical opportunities to improve their physical and health competences; 4. To empower youngsters to multiple competences gained during the Youth Exchange in their local communities by spreading outputs of the project (project video, press releases, photos, future local and international projects); 5. To promote non-formal education and Erasmus+ Programme as a support tool for health education; 6. To discuss between countries what is local and state authorities approach to practicing healthy lifestyles, or if special guidelines exist for it, etc.; 7. To raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity; Our main goal, given the following objectives, was to raise awareness of healthy lifestyle, which is often neglected among the Youths (but also among different age groups). Elderly people and parents are those who shape appropriate habits among us, and sometimes it happens they don’t carry the relevant knowledge. That project was also completed in order to show our other followers what we do and what kind of issues do we address. Since the project was a Youth Exchange with limited time frame, our team managed to inspire participants with various content, in order to leave them space for future, sport-related initiatives. Participants, within the framework of the project, managed to learn about healthy nutritioning, they are better public speakers, which is important in convincing others, but also, they are ready to take up their own initiatives, transfer the knowledge learned to the youth learners, and so on.
