Objectives

The project exploits the results of a strategic partnership „Youth-led Societal Innovation for Resilience“ (YlSIR) that mostly young youth workers have been involved in 2015-2016 producing the online course Bridgedale360.org. Bridgedale360 uses an innovative story-telling approach to introduce a holistic concept of sustainability where the four dimensions ecology, social, economy and worldview are explored in 16 modules with over 80 activities for individuals or groups to be conducted in an off-line setting. The purpose of Bridgedale360 is to inspire and empower youth to become active citizens for a sustainable future. It is solution-oriented & addresses all 4 dimensions in an interconnected way. It includes elements of mental learning, experiential activities & exercises. Bridgedale360 picks up the UN Sustainable Development Goals and fosters social and personal development of youth through promoting critical thinking & analysis, development of social skills, exploring values important to youth in their lives and seeks to inspire becoming change agents for the transition to a resilient, inclusive, just and sustainable society, in line with the European Youth Strategy. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT The main objectives of the project were to: - EQUIP YOUTH WORKER WITH ADEQUATE TOOLS to engage youth in exploring ecological, social, economical and cultural sustainability as a means of personal development - IMPROVE QUALITY OF YOUTH WORK in education for sustainable development - PROMOTE NETWORKING AND CROSS-POLLINATION between diverse organisations from different sectors and regions in Europe and beyond - RAISE AWARENESS of the EUROPEAN DIMENSION OF YOUTH WORK and the GLOBAL NATURE OF SUSTAINABILITY LINK TO ERASMUS+ OBJECTIVES The project linked to the ERASMUS+ objective of improving the level of key competences and skills of youth through developing the same qualities in the participating youth workers and equipping them with adequate non-formal learning methods to specifically address youth. The Bridgedale360 content promotes active citizenship, diversity, inclusion and solidarity. Bridgedale360 supports the development of creativity and innovation in young people through content in the social sustainability module. Through the development of soft and social skills, employability of young adults is improved and a sense of entrepreneurship fostered through content in the economic sustainability module. Bridgedale360 promotes values such as seeing diversity as an asset rather than a problem, solidarity, respect & raises awareness of cultural differences therefore fostering social inclusion. Bridgedale360 encouraged youth to become engaged in societal transformation, becoming change agents actively participating in society. The project met the ERASMUS+ objective of achieving quality improvements through empowerment of the participating youth workers, inspiring each other's work & increasing the quality of their work with youth. The objective of enhancing the international dimension of youth activities, the role of youth workers and organisations as support structures for young people was addressed through enhanced collaboration between partners from 6 countries.
