Objectives

Migration is a growing and sustained part of Europe's present and future. More effective strategies are needed at both EU and national levels to promote the economic, social, cultural, and political integration of immigrants and the next generation. Especially with the refugee problem, which is one of the most important issues of the last period; The phenomenon of violence that has been systematically put forward by refugees, individually and/or by the state, has greatly increased in Europe. This phenomenon; manifests itself in forms such as physical violence, labor exploitation, human trafficking, organ trafficking, sexual harassment and abuse, discrimination, and hate speech. Moreover, increasing violence and discrimination has started to manifest itself not only on refugees but also on foreigners who are migrants in these countries. The implementation of increasingly restrictive policies especially for immigrants and increasingly harsh measures against irregular migration also worsens the situation. In terms of being able to reveal the needs analysis; As the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, it is possible to say that the refugees residing in our country have been subjected to physical and psychological violence in the light of the primary data we have obtained during the projects such as radicalization, personal development and vocational education with refugees in our country. As ORSAM, in the light of the primary data obtained through survey and interview methods; Among 400 refugee youth, 20% were exposed to street violence, 40% were exposed to violence by their peers and teachers, and 40% took part in a fight based on othering. We asked each of our partners to implement the surveys we prepared in their region on refugee and/or migrant youth workers. The number of samples was determined as 100, and as a result of the study conducted as a questionnaire and one-to-one interview; On average, about 19% of refugees and immigrants in partner countries are physically assaulted and 25% are psychologically assaulted; It is determined that the highest rates are seen in North Macedonia, Albania, Poland, and Greece. In the light of these data, the main aim of the project will be to raise awareness of the youth workers who will be a tool for reaching our primary target group of refugees, about the consequences of the ill-treatment of refugees and migrants, and their training on ways to solve this problem. Thus, youth workers, who play an important role in helping migrants overcome the problems they face during the process of integration into a new society, will have the necessary knowledge on the subject and will be more effective in solving the problem in their own country. Our special objectives in this main goal are as follows: 1. To increase the knowledge, experience, and motivation of 48 youth workers for the common interests of 12 participating countries in combating violence against refugees through social inclusion activities. 2. To provide the best and up-to-date information about creative and innovative widespread education methods and pedagogical approach techniques aimed at preventing violence against youth workers and refugees through social inclusion activities and to develop innovative strategies for solving this problem. 3. Increasing the awareness and tolerance level of the society in the project partner countries in relation to the refugee problem. In this context, the processing of methods of releasing accumulated negative energy and ensuring the social integration of refugees. 4. To offer the opportunity to contact the target audience during their training so that participants are aware of the role they should play as a pioneer or resource person. 5. Provide youth workers, refugee youth with participatory leadership skills and human rights education to help them build better lives for themselves, their families, communities, and society. 6. Supporting adaptation processes by empowering refugee and migrant youth with the support of youth workers, thereby creating a social impact on the basis of violence against refugees.
