Objectives

The purpose of recycling is to ensure that the resulting waste does not go to landfills, incinerators or the ocean. Thus, it aims to make the resulting wastes reusable. According to the studies conducted by Willi Haas and his colleagues, 4 billion tons of waste is recycled annually worldwide, but this amount is quite low compared to 41 million tons of production. According to the World Health Organization report, every year 1.7 million people get cancer due to unhealthy environmental conditions; 12.6 million people die due to diseases related to environmental pollution. Today's youth do not have enough information about wastes and waste management, which are very important for the future of the world, and they are unconscious in this regard. It is important to raise the awareness of young people on the recycling of waste and increase their motivation to work on the solution of this problem. As a group, we first decided to prepare this project in order to increase the sensitivity of the project participants on this issue, to raise awareness among the local people and to act more consciously. In this context, the general goal of our project is; The aim was to increase the awareness of zero waste by increasing the sensitivity of young people towards recycling. Our specific goals: 1) Informing young people about waste management 2) To increase the motivation and competence of young people on waste recycling 3) Gaining correct waste classification skills in young people 4) Information about the scope and consequences of environmental pollution 5) Raising awareness on the recycling of products locally
