Objectives

With the spread of COVID-19 all over the world, it was once again experienced that health is more important than anything else in life. The pandemic spread throughout all of Europe and people could not leave their homes. Therefore, the physical and psychological health of individuals became more important than anything else. Experts state that individuals with healthy immune systems and psychological health can overcome the disease much more easily. That's why we want to use folklore, which is a very useful and fun activity for our body health and psychological health in our project. The project Folklore Unites Nations, focuses on exchanging cultural heritage, exchanging national values, sharing identities and appreciating other people's legacies as well as a universal icon of our human nature and improving awareness of the importance of physical and psychological health through folk dances. We all belong to the same earth and we share the same feelings. Our young people are pretty much the same concerning their joy, interests, sports activities, dance, music, knowledge, worldwide friendships and lifetime connections. As we know teenagers are nowadays strongly connected online, so they share anything about everything. But it is not like when they have the chance to lively encounter all of them. It is different when you step on the ground of a famous place, touching history at its home. Through this project, we aimed to bring 3 different groups from 3 different countries together and wanted them to learn each of their folk dances and exchange their culture, traditions and customs. We wanted young people to raise awareness about the importance of body and mental health, to learn about healthy living strategies be aware of health literacy and the importance of physical activity and the most important factors for a healthy lifestyle. We aimed for them to learn these topics while they are exchanging their folk dances. We wanted to achieve young people improve their horizons, raise empathy for each other and be healthy individuals for their future lives.
