Objectives

The project ''Social Entrepreneurship as a community development tool'' aimed to work on young people’s awareness of Social Entrepreneurship skills through communication, simulation games, and presentations. The aim of the project was to improve the situations of the participants' communities, to discuss the importance of community-based, social and societal entrepreneurship by focusing on the most cutting-edge research in the field, and to teach the usage of social enterprises as a source of income. The objectives of our project were. • To contribute to sustainable community development; • To increase emphasis on the Social Entrepreneurship approach as a tool for financial sustainability of organisations; • To empower the community development process with Social Entrepreneurship's innovative approach; • To create a platform to gather people of different sectors to make them aware of social issues; • To create an environment for learning and sharing experiences within the community and outside of the community as well; • To run various community activities regarding health, environment, and development; • To enhance the access of underprivileged people to information technology. The participants were introduced to different perspectives on Social Entrepreneurship. They learned about complementary and opportunistic assets, which help detect an opportunity and develop an idea of how to create a business aimed toward social change.
