Objectives

The Young Audiovisual (YA) project aims to enhance the employability level of young people by equipping them with practical skills and personal branding through the use of ICT tools and digital instruments. It is evident that in many countries, young people lack the necessary practical skills to enrich their online visual image and self-branding. YA is a result of the Media Creator project and is closely linked to our previous project. Participants who took part in Media Creator came up with more concrete ideas for future projects, which directly led to the conception of YA. The reality check across the partner states: - New forms of participation The seminar report on new ways of participation by the Council of Europe observed that technological advancements have provided young people with numerous opportunities to participate in society in alternative ways, such as online forums, SMS actions, e-democracy, and m-democracy, giving them a chance to express their opinions and make their voices heard. - Enhancing employability and promoting diversity through media forms Moreover, the development of information technology skills can provide young people with valuable abilities to organize people, events, and resources, which can prove advantageous in their future careers. Simultaneously, youth organizations can benefit from utilizing new media tools to work with disadvantaged groups, particularly those facing fewer opportunities. - Youth unemployment Youth unemployment is a pressing issue across many European countries, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Even prior to the economic and financial crisis, the high levels of youth unemployment had been a significant concern. This has been emphasized by the European Commission in its New EU Strategy for Youth. Despite comprising only a quarter of the global workforce, youth account for half of the world's unemployed population. Therefore, it is crucial to focus on addressing the obstacles that hinder young people from accessing and sustaining employment. General Objectives: - The project aims to provide various opportunities for career development in the media/digital/ICT field; - It also aims to support participants in constructing, creating and producing innovative media with their own value and purpose. - Furthermore, the project offers try-it-yourself sessions for youth media production, specifically targeting less opportunities groups such as those with sensory disabilities, those in poverty, rural youth, orphans, and children of immigrants. - The project also aims to equip youth with basic audiovisual competences, critical thinking about accessing and consuming media, and knowledge of producing media such as video, photography, visualization of information, blogs, graphics, and social media content. - The specific objectives of the project are to enable 108 young people to create an online self-branding campaign and to increase their digital/ICT competences by 60-80%. - Increase the likelihood of employment within the next 12 months by 50-80%. - Develop and distribute 15 video tutorials related to self-branding. - Create 7 online social media strategies for each specific objective. - Produce 7 promotional videos for each specific objective. - Develop and publish a booklet with media exercises and assignments for youth projects. - Promote the modernization of training and education systems by utilizing EU transparency and recognition tools and disseminating good practices. - Enhance the intercultural dimension of education through the use of media techniques that can be applied worldwide. Connection to priorities: - Develop basic and transversal skills, including digital and ICT skills, using innovative pedagogical approaches and assessments through social media, online work, software, video, and photography. - Increase the uptake of Information and Communication Technologies in teaching and learning through the use of open video educational resources and clarifying the obligations of users and producers of digitized content. - Promote stronger coherence among EU members. - Increase incentives for adult training by developing skills and competencies that can lead to employment in media-related positions.
