The project “Digitally Yours” was inspired by the coronavirus pandemics that made us aware of the benefits of technology, such as: tracking health, learning through apps, staying connected to friends and family, meeting new people, working remotely etc., and thought us to appreciate them more. We have noticed that the jobs which include basic computer or customer service experience or advanced technical skills, almost didn’t feel this crisis, because they didn’t have any problems with transferring their work remotely. On the other hand, translating the quality and legitimacy of your online working abilities to the job market can be a difficult task for many up-and-coming professionals. Taking all this to consideration, the main idea of this project was to boost both ICT and soft skills of young people by engaging them in digital activities with the use of digital content and digital tools, which can only help one to grow and prosper in this world, which whether we like it or not is becoming more digital every day. Besides this, we wanted to make young people from different countries work together and team up to use creativity while performing various challenges experimenting with different digital tools during the exchange. We believe that this helped them see the power of ICT, equipped them with necessary ICT skills and developed their digital competences through non-formal methods and learning by doing experience. The objectives of the project were: • To encourage young people to recognize and use the benefits of technology for self-development, improving their self-esteem by learning new things through different digital tools. • To understand what digital competence and digital competence framework is and why that is important today • To encourage young people to embrace the change and learn how to adapt when change comes • Promote the acquisition, by all young people, of digital skills to enable young people to fully exploit the potential of the digital world. • Raising awareness among youngsters about the use of ICTs and social media as tool for job recruitment and promoting an aware, responsible use of them by young people in order to access to the European labor market • To develop participants’ creativity and digital skills by providing them space to turn their ideas into reality with the help of digital tools. • To develop blog skills and competences that can be gained with the assistance of available, everyday digital tools. • To create a social media campaign with the help of digital tools. • To gain digital competences needed for employment, personal development and social inclusion and enhance their skills for using different platforms. • To empower the participants with skills to use digital tools for campaigns without or with low budget. • Giving participants an opportunity to become knowledgeable of various cultures and work in mixed cultural groups while enhancing their teamwork and communication skills. • To strengthen participants' understanding of Erasmus + program and all its opportunities, through the method of non-formal education and to encourage them to become active citizens and join other possibilities. • Initiating confidence in participants’ technical abilities • Developing soft skills of participants In the context of achieving these objectives, we tried to adapt the program’s workshops accordingly to them. For example, to stimulate participants’ creativity with the help of digital tools, they had a ‘Creativity Competition’ where they were split into teams, each team representing a team of entrepreneurs who were presenting their ‘invention’ with the help of different digital tools. Also, in order for them to strengthen their understanding of the Erasmus+ program, they had a ‘Mission (Im)Possible activity where they had 10 questions related to the Erasmus+ Program, whose answers they had to find out, such as: What are the Erasmus+ youth sector opportunities for young people?; What are the most important characteristics of a youth exchange according to the program guide?; What is the main difference between Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps? Erasmus for Entrepreneurs for people interested in IT? etc. After each group presented the information, they have discovered, the leaders gave additional information for each of the questions.
