Formaat is developing supporting methods, tools and educational programs for youth club workers. In 2019 the Flemish program to support arts and entrepreneurial education in youth clubs expanded with the new topic 'community development' by subsidizing regional projects executed by youth clubs that involve community building activities. With this project we mainly focused on the youth workers who are working under this subsidy program, generally within projects on social cohesion and outreach youth work. We aimed to answer the questions and difficulties these youth workers face in their daily practice, to inspire and offer expertise to the participants by getting to know good practices and innovative methods to work with and for young people. In order to provide an adequate response to their challenges, we formulated three main objectives for this project: Objective 1: To nurture and strengthen projects on outreaching youth work, community development and intersectoral collaborations. - To inspire project workers in order to stimulate a culture of innovation in their own project. - To refresh, renew and broaden the knowledge and vision on the above topics. Objective 2: To build up a body of knowledge on outreaching youth work, community development and intersectoral collaborations. - To explore innovative projects and new forms of youth work. - To secure new knowledge on the above topics. - To disseminate new knowledge on the above topics to youth work organizations in the own region. Objective 3: To build and consolidate international relationships with similar organizations. - To gather and share new international contacts between Formaat, participating youth clubs and the hosting organization. - To set up new partnerships between Formaat, participating youth clubs and organizations in Finland.
