Objectives

Young people are among the most affected by the socio-economic impacts of the restrictive measures implemented in response to COVID-19. The measures implemented by the states have created insecurity for young people in the fields of education, employment, mental health, social inclusion and active civic participation. Vulnerable and marginalized young people are most exposed to the negative impact. For the most part, the young people we work with as youth organizations find themselves in this situation. Therefore, we as organizations have decided to support the participation of these young people in this project so that they can share their views, expectations, fears and together reach appropriate practical solutions to reduce the negative effects of restrictive measures. In this context, the main project goal is to improve the opportunities of the young people we work with to deal with the negative consequences of the restrictive measures introduced during the crisis, as well as to improve our capacity to work during crises by strengthening cooperation between us. . The goal will be achieved by organizing youth mobility and non-formal learning methods. The specific objectives of the project, as the specific steps to achieve the main project objective are: - To share good practices for dealing with the negative consequences in the context of each participating organization arising from the restrictive measures applied to deal with the COVID-19 crisis; - To identify universal practical solutions based on shared experience; - To raise young people's awareness of the responsibilities and functions of local authorities during a crisis; - to create a network for cooperation between us to overcome the consequences of the crisis with COVID-19; - Ensure the rights of vulnerable groups of young people in times of crisis. Thus, our project clearly addresses the needs of our youth communities to overcome the negative consequences of the introduced restrictive measures; for the new challenges for work, study, social inclusion and civic activism in the COVID-19 situation; as well as for post-epidemic trauma in young people. On the other hand, the project addresses the needs of our organizations to strengthen cooperation between us, to apply new approaches to working with young people in times of crisis, to improve our role in society. With this project we as organizations want to achieve a positive change in the lives and attitudes of young people from our communities and to contribute to change and impact at local, national and European level, supporting the participants in this project to give their adequate response to overcome the negative consequences of the introduced restrictive measures; to reflect and share an opinion on the new challenges for work, study, social inclusion and civic activism in the COVID-19 situation; to find opportunities to turn the negative consequences into a positive effect on their personal and professional development, to contribute to youth organizations and local communities in general to building a safe and secure world based on common European values; to combat stereotypes and discrimination against certain groups of young people who are further fueled by the COVID-19 situation; to form positive attitudes to deal with post-epidemic trauma in young people; to raise awareness of the functions and responsibilities of local authorities in times of crisis in order to ensure social protection and access to health and other services.
