Objectives

The partner consortium decided to select focus groups-potential participants in the mobility to ensure maximum learning and learning outcomes. Each partner sent information to local young people, volunteers, other NGOs, disseminated information about the project on social networks and other youth institutions and even schools to identify potential applicants and analyze their needs, experience and interest in the topic. From the Partners from Finland we have a total of 13 candidates, from Romania 17, Spain-19, Great Britain-15, Italy-19, Bulgaria-23. Thus, a total of 106 young people, aged 16 to 26, who are potential participants in mobility, were included. The survey thus showed a lack of in-depth understanding of youth radicalization - causes, signs, connection to fake news and media propaganda, hate speech used as tools, lack of knowledge about the difference between radicalization, extremism and terrorism and the links, and lack of knowledge to check for fake news. By implementing this project we would like to direct attention and show the importance of the increasing number of young people in potential risk of radicalization. This topic is not being talked a nether in public, schools, universities but we thing that it’s essential to be done right there due to the high number of people falling into the danger of being radicalized. The eschange will raise an important social discussion, tackling essential social issues, related to the secutirty of Europe, safety of young people, the reality of media propaganda, the excisting extremist movements, putting in danger youth. Special attention will be drawn at importance of social inclusion of youth from deprived backgrounds and with fewer opportunity-a huge potential victim of radical movements and ideas, that can be easily manupluated. Moreover, we will also draw attention to role of social media and propaganda, hate speech as a tool to provide sense of belonging and meaning for youth, falling into social exclusion due to several reasons. By implementing this youth exchange we will SpeakUP + about such important topic, we will engage number of young people across Europe which will multiply the acquired skills, knowledge to their friends and family. Moreoer, the main idea is also to involve youth themselves, to give spot to aise their voice and SpeakUp and not be onl part of statisctics, related to the issue of violent extremis and radicalization, but rather be informed, aware and part of prevention themselves. The main objectives we have in the project are: - To have deeper understanding on the concept of radicalization – how it starts, what are it’s effects and how media influence it - To raise awareness on existence of different extremist movements and recruitment ways – so that we could lower the risk of radicalization - To raise awareness on hate speech issue, being used a tool to provoke by extremists movements By informing the participants and ensuring deeper understanding of the topic of youth radicalization, discussion of extremism, hate speech as a tool used by extremist movements, the project will contribute to reducing the risk of radicalization in Europe.
