Intercultural/intergenerational education and (lifelong)learningInclusion - equityYouth (Participation, Youth Work, Youth Policy)

Objectives

The youth who gets a chance to participate in our activity in Cyprus, will be impacted at the highest level. The most important value we would like to give them will be the methodologies they learn. Participants need to have a clear understanding about what these concepts represent, why they are useful for them and for the rest of the people. Here is the list of potential impacted factors we are considering on them: - Understanding of game-based learning and gamification. Their specifications, differences and similarities between them; use and added value. - New/ innovative ways of studying - participants share tips to each other about how they use these methods to improve the learning process. Even if their learning materials are not attractive but necessary, they can gamify their learning and generate joy out of it. - Setting goals, productivity - they will be more motivated to reach aims. They will be able to break goals into stages, give different levels to each stage, reward themselves and enjoy their accomplishments. - Methodology for team-work - Participants will be able to apply these methodologies during their teamworks at university, youth events, or everyday life when interacting with groups of people. - Sense of initiative - During the project they take a local initiative; they have opportunities to initiate sessions, organize cultural evenings; they do dissemination activities - all these fosters their sense of initiative. - New hobbies - gamification helps take up new hobbies. They can start living healthy; take care of the environment, join sports, and yoga. - Preventing bad habits - Gamification is a good way to challenge themselves. They will be able to set limits to themselves. It can help quit smoking; recover daily routine; stop not important activities. - Inclusion and solidarity - The project is full of games, inclusive activities, reflections, teamwork. It helps youth from different backgrouds get closer and respect each other; go agains discrimination and break steretypes. They will be able to understand the world is equal and everybody deserves equal chances. - Intercultural knowledge - participants are organizing cultural evenings. They share their values, beliefs, traditions, songs, dances. They are able to interact, get friends with youngsters from different countries. As a result, they learn and appreciate a multicultural environment. - Today's participants - tomorrow's change-makers - new friendships provoke building partnerships. Discussing common issues participants will be able to find like-minded people and draft new ideas. Particularly for participants with fewer opportunities - they will experience the sense of inclusion as an outcome of our activities. By giving them opportunities to express themselves and feel equal to the others, their attitudes towards life will change. Generally, participants become more open-minded as they see a different world of people representing slightly different countries. Acquiring new friends and sharing thoughts participants are able to raise questions and initiate some ideas that can have an influence in the future world. During our intercultural evenings sharing traditions and habits will show them how different and similar they are at the same time and it will raise their sense of tolerance. This will give a better understanding of the values of European Union. On partner organizations: Starting from the phase of writing the project application we are improving our skills. We are working online that makes it a bit hard and challenging but for now this is the reality and we need to face that. Specific benefits partner organizations get are as followings: - Increased competencies in gamification and game-based learning - these methods are “boosters” of non-formaleducation. They can be applied to any youth projects. Partners share their expertise and explore it more. - Project management - dividing roles, sharing responsibilities as well as experiences; building capacity at some point; resource/ budget management; logistic/ arrangements management. - Increased skills in facilitation of youth projects - Partners are able to send their staff and carry out facilitation. - International dimensions - Partners have relatively different experience in international actions. This is a way to expand borders and make greater impacts as well as to find new ways of cooperation and new opportunities to identify in the future. - New ideas - Getting a new chance to meet partners is an opportunity to develop new projects. That happened during our last meeting. We gathered and wrote this project together. Now we have a chance to involve participants too in the process of generating new ideas. Together with all stakeholders we can be initiators of future greater impacts. - Improved quality of online and offline cooperation - new foundings, tips/ tricks.
