Objectives

Human rights are fundamental rights for living and for normal human existence. They are based on the concept that every human being, irrespective of caste, creed, color, raise and nationality is born or with certain fundamental rights such as, the right to live, speech, freedom, justice and so on. Unfortunately this has remained only a concept. A lot of countries are violating these rights, especially the rights of migrants and refugees. With migration being such a big and controversial issue in Europe and all over the world, the members of Youth Dynamics decided to take this matter into their own hands by creating a project which helps raise awareness among young people in hopes that they will be the leaders who will make a change. Youth Dynamics hosted in Agros Cyprus between 13-21 September 2022 the youth exchange "Together 4 Human Rights". In the project took part participants from 4 countries (Cyprus, Greece, Estonia and Hungary). This resulted in a diverse group of 44 young people, who all came together to explore the concept of human rights through non formal education The world in peace, in which all people can live a secure life free of discrimination – was the main guiding principle of our work. Fighting against racism, human rights, diversity, democracy and gender issues are very important aspects of our vision. In daily news every day we encounter hundreds of headlines loaded with the messages related to conflict, troubles, confrontation, opposition, war... and on the background of these messages we often hear other exclamations: immigration, extremism, Islamism, terrorism. A huge number of them refer to Europe and the European Union. The recent years have become one of the most challenging in the history of Europe, since many countries had faced the migration crisis, the moment when they had to reconsider and prove the values Europe is standing for. However, the story is not over, and the next step in solving the current situation is to promote diversity, provide social inclusion and active participation of refugees and migrants in the society. The political, economic and social challenges Europe is facing are our common challenges. In several countries, there has been a marked increase in attacks on refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, some of which have been fatal. Hate speech rooted in hostility to ethnic, religious and cultural diversity is being expressed ever more openly, not only by extremist groups but also by politicians and on social media. Unfortunately, a lot of people even do not think about hate speech when it comes from politicians and is taken as it is a normal thing. Such issues are calling for immediate resolutions. Besides that human rights violations happen also at home, especially in the countries like Cyprus, Ukraine, which is why HR is important. Only with full awareness, understanding and respect for human rights we can hope to develop a culture where they are respected rather than violated. NEEDS: Lack of security, rise of extremism and the shrinking space for civil society are some of the most pressing concerns that needs to be addressed. It is more important than ever that we stand together - in Europe and beyond - to safeguard and promote those values that provides the foundation for a robust and prosperous society for all and since the younger generation is the one who will be building the future it is important to bring human rights education as a tool to combat the further spread of radicalization, extremism and inequality. AIM: The aim of the youth exchange was to raise awareness about Human rights and to empower young people to contribute to the building and defense of a universal culture of human rights in society. Also we aimed to raise awareness of human rights and to enable young people to contribute to building and defending a universal culture of human rights in society. Objectives : • to empower young people to take action to defend and promote human rights • to respect for people’s cultural origins and fighting against racism and xenophobia • to increase knowledge and understanding about Human Rights and Human Rights Education • To show respect, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity, particularly towards different national, ethnic, religious, linguistic, and other minorities and communities • to promote different opportunities under Erasmus + and the Youthpass as a tool for the recognition of non-formal competences. During 9 days participants took part in many diverse interactive activities focused on migration and refugee crisis. Initially, participants got the chance to know each other’s culture and background through ‘intercultural nights’ where they addressed their own experiences on the topic along with sharing their traditional dances, dishes etc
