Objectives

Currently, due to the world economic crises caused initially by the Covid- 19, one of the biggest problems in Czech Republic and EU, in line with rest of the world, is youth unemployment. The crisis is not just affecting many young people who are currently left without a job, but it is increasing the general depression, dissatisfaction, anxiety and stress which can have negative consequences in the long term. Many small enterprises closed and even the ones that now have innovative and important ideas for the society which can be very profitable as well if they are turned into enterprises, are insecure to start anything now and need guidance and encouragement to design and launch them. Considering the current situation in Czech Republic, many new jobs will not be created in the Public Sector or in many of the current companies, so the way out of the current situation will depend on (social) entrepreneurship. Young people have less opportunities in the job market, as traditionally older and more experienced employees always have an advantage over less experienced freshly graduated young people. That is why very often the youth unemployed is double or triple more than the average unemployment rate. This situation is applicable to rest of the Europe as well, especially to Spain, Greece, North Macedonia, Romania and Italy which are countries with one of the highest unemployment rates in Europe. In the face of such economic and social challenges, there is demand, especially for young people, to better prepare them for today’s varied and unpredictable career paths. According to CEDEFOP, the global economy and the 21st century workplace need people with transversal skills which are also essential for the everyday life and all career choices. Since we and our partners are working on everyday basis in engaging and helping the ones in need, we realize that the current social changes affect the young people the most and we need to take proper action, so we decided to collaborate together in finding common solutions through the social entrepreneurship topic. Therefore the purpose of this project was to tackle youth unemployment across the European countries and initiate positive social changes through innovative social entrepreneurship solutions. Also to ensure equal access to employment and entrepreneurship among young people through equipping them with relevant and modern skills. The main aim of the project was to equip young people with necessary competencies and tools in order to become the engines of social change through initiating social entrepreneurship projects. The objectives were: - Raising awareness and skills of young people to deal with the social problems - Increasing the employability skills and abilities of young people - Motivating and equipping the young people with relevant competences to undertake social entrepreneurship projects - Develop pilot projects which transfer social challenges into positive social changes in their community
